ab\'s revenge on the HID group buy! Read to see if anyone interested $280.00

Okay,

Since I got hijack on the last buy :D  ...I which is not a bad thing for you guys...because competition will equal lower cost..

I got off the phone with the vendor I used. I can get the HID's in the 9005's for $280.00 plus shipping which shouldn't too expensive.

How it will work, I get the funds, I buy the lights and then they get shipped to me and I will check to make sure all lights are right and then ship them out to you via postal carrier.

Before all the people that did the original group buy from me, don't shoot me because of the price. I had no choice on the price. I'm just trying to help get everyone a good deal.

Let me know if you are seriously in before I commit to doing this. The wait will be short and the lights are in stock from the vendor.

If I get enough interest then I will do it again.

6000K and up are availble.

Re: ab\'s revenge on the HID group buy! Read to see if anyone interested $280.00

I do want them, and the lowest price is always good, but I dont want bulbs burning out after 3 months or melted wiring harness connectors or cracked lenses either. I have gone thru this once before with onther vendor.

Who has better product apples to apples? are they the same, if not what are the differnces.

Who has longest warantee if there ever was a problem?

Lance (MALCOLM) said he had problems with his kit he got from AB the first time round and AB took really good care of him and resolved it.

For me I would rather pay a few extra dollars with vendor that will stand behind their product.

Can both AB and Venom550 speak to these topics, so us uneducated HID customers can make a decsion.

thanks in advance

i don't think it's worth to fight over this one at all....i mean both of us have almost the same price after shipping, AB's kit is coming from China, and our kit is coming from Japan, we both can get 6000k-up, our kit come with 2-yr warranty, not sure about ABs, but i'm sure AB's kit just as good as ours, so.....

there is one more thing...AB is doing a groupbuy for that price at prob 10 orders at a time....we do NOT have to do any groupbuy, that's our normal price all day all night, all kits are in stock, no waiting for the groupbuy to end, so....

Malcom just had the wrong size bulb.

Seriously I really don't care if people buy them from Venom blue. He is probobly making $50-80 on the set he sells. I'm not in it for a profit, so if people want to buy them from him that's fine. No skin off my back. Japan vs China...so what...it's all the same.

ab....i really don't think there is a reason for us to fight over this, we carry them way way before anyone even brought the HID up on here, and people been ordering from us, and since many people asked us about the price stuff like that, that's why we post on here, and we had that price since day 1, so again, i'm not in here to stop you selling them or anything, so if anything we did to make you think we are in your way or antying...i'm sorry...

Well all kidding aside I think both of you have great prices and since AB is no longer doing the HID's I hope he will bring us group buys on other items in the near future.

Re: ab\'s revenge on the HID group buy! Read to see if anyone interested $280.00

I'm a little confused? People are talking about melting wires, light burning out quickly, etc...

Bottom line: If I'm going to spend $300, I want these things to last, be plug and play, and have no issues. So, are there any issues with the increased heat? What is the typical hours these bulbs get? And once they burn out, how much do I need to spend again? I hope it's not another $300....

I've got the ones from GCHDEALER, plug and play with no problems, melting etc.

Onerareviper, you can stop over and I can show you the kit I got if you are interested.

Chad,

Do you have the foglight kits as well? Can you get both in any degree Kelvin?

When you say you get them from Germany, are they Siemens?

Thanks!

What is the regular price on these? How long do they take to install? What type of system is this? Just bulbs? I am sorry but I need some explanation as I have heard of lots of horror stories with lights buring out and systems failing. Is this a good system? Warranty? I am very interested.

Thanks

Keith

Re: ab\'s revenge on the HID group buy! Read to see if anyone interested $280.00

Keith,

I'll try to answer them in general and let venom answer specifically to the kits he's selling. HID kits usually consist of D2S bulbs rebased to 9005, ballasts and wiring harness with relays. I paid in the high 4's for mine. They are made from Philips components (Made in Germany). Took me about 4 hours (took my time)to install since I used the wiring harness with the relays. There's been some debate as to whether or not separate relays are needed. I played it safe and went with the relays.

This is what my kit looks like. Maybe Venom can post pics of his kit. I'd be interested in switching my fog lights to HID. $280 sounds like a good price.

Mine are 4100K which are white with a slight blue tint. The 6000K or 8000K will have a slightly bluer tint.

This is OEM vs 4100K

Thanks for the pictures. I like the blue tint like I had in my Xenons on my SL. I have been looking for something like that color for some time.

VPRVNM97,

Where did you get your kit? HID-Online.com? I am in the camp of using relays rather than directly wiring to the headlamp switch. What was the part number?

Ulysses,

Yep, that's where I got it from. I checked the invoice and it didn't indicate a part number. The application guide on their website isn't responding right now. You might just want to e-mail them. All they need to know is that it's for a North American car and 9005 bulb.

OK I've narrowed the choice to 4100K and 6000K and the tiebreaker will be visibility. I don't really care about the blue tint. I'm more concerned with how far I can see.

ab mentioned that the higher K you go after a certain point, the more visibility gets reduced.

So, will I be able to see further with 4100K or 6000K?

Thanks!

Between 4100K and 6000K you're probably splitting hairs, IMHO. Daylight is around 5300K. I'm very happy with my 4100K FWIW. Flip a coin or go with 6000K for cool factor.

Just tried the HID-online.com and it did not work for application but when I went to the 9005 bulb section the kit listed for $594.06  Oh My! here is the link http://www.hid-online.com/hidonline/applications/car_kit_9005_6000k.htm
I'm still confused!

Dang! You weren't kidding. The 4100K kit is $494
http://www.hid-online.com/hidonline/applications/car_kit_9005_4100k.htm

For those who don't care what brand it is or what country it's made in, the Venomblue550 kit may be the way to go. Personally I didn't have a problem paying 5 bills for the Philips kit....as cheap as I am.
