I have searched but I seem to be getting different information in different places.

Does someone have the ACCURATE information on the following:

Weights of:
2003-2006 coupes
2003-2006 convertibles
2008+ coupes
2008+ convertibles
2008+ ACRs

Thanks!

My 05 Vert with 3/4 tank of gas scaled 3360. Friend of mine who is on this forum as well got his car on the same scale and scaled 3320.
I however have a big ass rear wing and at the time I had stock wheels and stock rubber.

1992-1996 rt10= 3350

1997-2002 rt10= 3380

1996-2002 gts= 3440

2003-2006 vert= 3390

2005-2006 coupe= 3420

2008-2010 vert/coupe= 3440

* an interesting note is with the rt10's...Say the 1997-2002 for example..You can remove the spare/jack and top for a weight savings of 80 pounds and go to the strip with a 400 rwhp car at 3300 pounds all fluids filled............GTS their is only the spare and jack and you are at 3400 pounds all fluids filled......All srt10's have zero things that can be revoved..........This is why the record of 11.77 at 120 mph in a magazine tested rt10 was never bested by the GTS*

Just food for thought

Thanks...I am so accustomed to see weights favoring coupes over roadsters...but it seems this is not the case in the Vipers. I have seen some places that claim the convertibles to be lighter than the coupes (gen IV) and others that are viceversa...and some that are the same...all over the place.

Only real way to know is to have actuall weights of actuall cars posted. Since mods are a huge factor, if you've done exhaust you've shed weight, and depending on how much gas you have etc... Its hard to go buy what a magazine says the curbweight is IMO.

My Gen I is 3340 on a 1/4 tank of gas.

or you could just look on your registration....

This is the only TRUE number as it represents everything topped off and the way it came from the factory...

My 2004 vette was 3320 pounds on the registration...The larger 2.73 rear end auto weighed a lil more than the 3.15 gearing auto and 3.42 gearing manual...As well they weighed the car with the colored top and black see through top...

Sure i could remove both tops and be at 3280 pounds..then go on the scale with only a 1/8 tamk of gas and be 3230 pounds...

But the true weight is whats on your registration....This is the straight from the factory no BS number..

my rt10 was 3380

My srt10 vert was 3390

Check out your regs. and get back to us....Lets see if we are all acurate across the board..

Yuppers,

Its something to do with the srt10's being built as verts in the beginning 03-05.

oooopps...i had it wrong..my 2003 srt10 is 3380 pounds and my 99 rt10 is 3390 pounds..

I was also very surprised to see that my 91 nsx is actually 3160 pounds....far and away from the 2995 pound number nsx guys like to use..

tailwag..post up the rego weight of your viper and z06..people like to tout how light the Z06 is saying it's only 3100 pounds..the first year z06 with no options is indeed light..But every option and each year it has gotten heavier..And I suspect they are 3200 plus pounds now...Or about 180 pounds lighter than a gen3 vert..

That is because most convertibles require additional reinforcement to deal with the added stress of removing the structural roof. The Viper obviously is not one of them.

Unfortunately the DMV here and car inspections are as loose as it gets around here. When I sold my E46M3, the registration read: 3,333 - I know there is NO WAY in heck that pig weighed anything less than 3,600lbs...and that is probably dry as could be.

I weighed my Z and from what I remember, substracting the weight of gas, it was right around 3,106. Mine is a 2LZ though...

Belieave it or not your m3 weight is correct..my buddy had one and that is what his weighed as well...the M3 and c5 vette were very close in weight and performance..With the C5 haveing a slight weight and rwhp advantage it could routinely run 13.3 at 106 mph while the M3 would routinely run 13.7 at 103 mph...

The reg weight just dosent lie!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could put my srt10 on a scale right now with a 1/8 tank of gas plus my light weight titanium exhaust and come close to 31xx pounds..

Still the reg said it left the factory topped off at 3380 pounds..it is what it is..

What does your reg say for your Viper and vette?

Amazing how little weight the Viper has gained over the years.

Each model has added substantial features but have worked hard to keep the weight down.

92 had no top, no air, no ABS, no windows, smaller tires, wheels, brakes.

Newer cars have larger tires, brakes, stereo amps, electric windows, beefier trans and rear end.

The safety stuff has required beefed up frames and intrusion section with stronger crumple zones.

Most Chrysler vehicle gain significant weight (Minivans, 300, Grand Cherokee etc)

The HP has gone from 400 to 600 hp with significantly stronger brakes, rear ends, and transmission. Full underbelly panels have been added to clean up aero. Lots of heavy stuff.

My Viper is coming in at 4,600 lbs...:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang: - see what I mean? Did they unload it of the trailer or did they weigh the truck it was in since it was attached with straps to it???????????? Daaaaaang!

My Z06 title is 3450 - so they probably weighed it with a fatty inside the car and the fuel topped off... :lmao:

My car weighed 3327 last weekend, with lightweight wheels/tires and about 1/4 tank, otherwise stock. When I had a straight-pipe cat-back exhaust, the car measured 3308 with a similar fuel level. Not all scales are calibrated properly though.
Oh, it's a 2004.

Gen4 aluminum belly pan weighs next to nothing.
