Actual Dyno of Paolo Castellano\'s 1512 RWHP Dyno!!
REMEMBER people this is on a MUSTANG DYNO and thru an AUTOMATIC TRANNY/OVERDRIVE both on which yield lower numbers.
PER PAOLO CASTELLANO: (lifted from the post over at the Alley)
Hello all, I am just throwing up a little post to communicate the power #'s we have achieved so far....
We made 1512 RWTQ and we made 1278 RWHP through the .69 overdrive gear of the automatic transmission with the converter locked on a Mustang dyno with relatively little time in between runs, about 11:1 Air to fuel ratios and very conservative timing.
I have decided to post this information but would like to keep the boost #'s to myself for a little while yet. I can say we were making around 70 RWHP/PSI which is not too shabby to say the least.
What I am most impressed with is some of the average values over the 3440-5610 RPM range.(We only revved it to 5600 because that is already some 215 MPH with the gearing on the car, Larry does not want to overspin his dyno)
One thing that was kind of nerve-racking was when Larry and company go to the office some 100 feet away for me to do my pull in case the [******] explodes!
Kind of funny me, kind of fukced up scary for me....
I was hoping I would still have a pair of legs after the pull if you know what I mean.
I still pushed on that accelerator pedal with everything I had!
I do not know if those guys were fukcing with me or not but is was bad-ass and cool as hell!
Like I said, there is plenty still to go and it should be fun!
I wanted to post some dyno sheets before, but it looked kind of goofy to only rev to 4880 RPM so I waited.
I am pleased to say the least and look foreward to turning up the wick even further in the near future.
Please notice the average values on the higher boost pull from the dyno sheet that has the three overlays.
Also please take special notice of how symmetrically the power increases with incremental increases in boost.
I think the design of this system is everything I hoped it would be and is responsible for the power characteristics you are about to see when the dyno sheets are posted.
I hope everybody here forgives me for taking so long to get this project done, but the results here are not even close to being their most impressive just yet!
P.S. the first sheet is not a full pull but does show the 1500+ RWTQ#!
