I discovered that you can adjust the 3 pedals differently if you want to. From the factory the clutch brake and gas pedals on my 06 appear to be about the same height. I would rather have the clutch higher and the brake and gas lower for long trips. With clutch higher you can use the dead pedal better and the brake and gas lower for a more relaxed cruising. Of course this depends on your body specs as well. When my clutch pedal linkage fell apart I looked at it carefully and realized that there is one motor and 3 cables to the 3 pedals with little transmissions on each pedal able to give you a 4 inch change. There is a threaded rod with each pedal held in place by 2 clips once disengaged you can position the rod to change the pedals reference to each other but be careful to test it so you get enough travel out of it. Really comfortable now my right foot was tired of being to close to the accelerator and my left foot couldn't go under the clutch to sit on the dead pedal. Now works better for me. In the old days the clutch was way higher than the power brake and the gas was the same height as the power brake.

I removed the dead peddle the first week. I'll rest my foot flat on the floor between shifts.

Sorry to hear about your problem, I wish I could recommend a good surgeon.
