First off let me say the car has been nothing less then amazing. I couldnt be happier or more excited to own this thing. And its really growing on me. Now onto the bad news. I was towed tonight.

I was leaving class tonight, decent night out here in Chicago. Car was warmed up, was at a red light, turned right on a great road to hammer it on, smash the gas, she takes off.... clutch, shift into second, "Booooooooom" right at the shift into second, the noise was very loud. Explosive. I immeaditely throw it in 4th... cruise up.. "thump thump thump thump". Pull over thinking " Did a tire explode?". Check all tires, look under the car, nothing leaking. After a couple minutes I get back in cruise over to a friends... checked it out further made some calls, etc... Decided I would still drive it home. The clutch was slipping big time, and on my cruise home I kept it in 5th.... at 60mph, everything was fine, but if I took my foot off the gas, let the car decelerate, major thumping. Also when at speed, if I put the clutch in, thumping again. Basically if the I let the car decelerate and the RPM'***** 1500, the thumping would start, and I would gas it a little, the car would slip, and kinda hop up to 2k. then it would be fine.

Got her towed. Should know whats up tomorrow. Im thinking its clutch, and or half shaft problem. Anyone else experience this. I'm not too worried, the car is under warranty and will be fixed.

Hey thanks a lot for all your help, greatly appreciated. I think im going to call the dealership tomorrow morning early, and ask for the tech. Inform him of some of this, see what his experience is with it, and what he says. Memorial day weekend too, was going to my friends lake house, would have been nice to have the ride. Oh well... thanks again

Its the transmission. Dodge will put a new tranny in. The exact same thing happened to me 4 weeks ago. Same scenerio, shifting into second, loud noise. My dealer told me that its policy to just replace the whole tranny. I have 13k on my '03

What was the approximate time the car was under the knife. I know for sure I wont have mine this weekend, if I get it that fast, wow that would be great. Just so I have an idea though
