I also can relate. I had a 99 supercharged gts. I used to tap the throttle and could spin it around into a parking space. I don't think I could do that with my 08. It just much harder
to rev the engine accurately, especially with the drive by wire.

Thats exaclty what I used to be able to do and it was so easy to do! Seems like my gen 3 doesn't want to rev up as quick at all and if i do get it loose its just not that controllable.

Well I would think the throttle response is different so tapping it while drifting might expose a normally less noticable difference. Wasn't the throttle delay more a gen4 thing than a gen3 thing?

You would be correct. Doesn't make sense since the Gen 3 throttle is cable operated and should behave better.

Its not the delay in response as much as the cars response if that makes any sense.

My bad, I was focussing on the delayed performance response of your current Gen 3 vs. the Gen 4 that is more commonly known to have this issue because of the drive-by-wire throttle.

Sounds like an aluminum fly wheel and a set of 3:55s are in order. Headers will help as well with the faster revs.
