Goodyear is making a 355/30ZR18 F1 Fiorano for the F50 (fits on the 18 x 13 just fine)...but Tire Rack doesn't carry the 355's, only the 335's, they said to check back in six months or so...I realize that the Pilots offer a 345, but I wouldn't mind trying a set of F1's for a while...with:

295/35ZR18 F1 Fiorano's up front
Shorter spring perches
3.55 rear end
Speedo calibration

Anyone know who could get the 355 F1's?

Michelin Pilot Sport 275/35ZR18 diameter = 25.7"
Michelin Pilot Sport 285/30ZR18 diameter = 25.0"
Michelin Pilot Sport 335/30ZR18 diameter = 26.1"
Michelin Pilot Sport 345/35ZR18 diameter = 27.4"

Goodyear F1 Fiorano 295/30ZR18 diameter = 26.1"
Goodyear F1 Fiorano 335/30ZR18 diameter = 25.9"
Goodyear F1 Fiorano 355/30ZR18 diameter = 27.7"

I think the shorter spring caps...5/8" drop...which would compensate for the increased height of the 355 F1's.

I am thinking with 3.55 gears and the bigger diameter tires, I'd actually end up somewhere about 3.33 ratio...and what a patch those 355/30ZR18's would have, if I could find them.

You just get a precalibrated speedometer conversion kit, for your final gear ratio, whatever it turns out to be, I haven't done the math yet...3.33 is just an estimate...I don't want to pop a brain cell, if I cannot find the tires...I don't have many left...

Well, to give us an idea...just the math, not what they actually turn out to be on the rim, the 335's are 13.4" in width and the 355's are 14.2" wide...which should be pretty close...Tire Rack says the 335 is 13.3" on a 12" rim, obviously a little wider on our 13" rims...I'd say 14.2 would be pretty close for the 355's...the F50 also runs 18 x 13" rear rims...

So where do we get these meats?

Wider...is...better...so the Pontiac commercial goes...I'm not too hip on the taller side of the Goodyear 355's, but I can drop the car a bit...

Has anybody tried the BF K/D's? Or are they available in Viper sizes.

I heard that the Pilot Sports are specfically made for the Viper, but can find any specific information on just what makes them special compaired to other tires. Anybody know?

1) "We" do not know if there are suspension or other clearance issues when / if you went that much wider.

2) Car and Driver called the current fittment "almost like a steamroller......like one tire wide all the way across"

3) TireRack sez that GY never made the 355 after all because the F50 went with 355s.

4) Whatya trying to do....flatten a cat without missing a single hair?

JonB,

You must find these tires, they are perfect for vipers. And will finaly allow for wider rear rims with an acutal benefit.

thy are prob about $600 ec... lol

I am running the 345/35R18 sports thy look good, but a 355 would be nice
smile.gif

the 355/30R18 should be shorter then the 345/35R18 not taller

355 X 0.30 = 106.50mm
106.5mm / 25.4 = 4.20"
4.20 X 2 = 8.40"
8.40 + 18" = 26.40" tall

the 345/35R18's are 27.4"tall
