Alarm reset on a 96

If the alarm goes off on a 96, is it programmed to reset itself (and shut off) after a few minutes or will the alarm continue to sound until the battery is dead? You can tell from this novice question that Doug Levin and I are comprised of different genetic material. Thanks

it will sound for a couple minutes and then stop..... in the little glove box there is a key hole to shut it off with the key and reset it.

The car is not with me now, but are you sure there is a key hole in the 96 model? I've never seen it. Thanks.

Gerald, NO KEY in glovebox on a 96 or 97....that started in 1998.
