Another Viper fatality

I think someone said if before but it seems as though the news media always tell you when a Viper is involved rather than other vehicles.

I think they do report the car type when it's an "Exotic" it's so much more salacious (and rare) when someone wrecks one of these things...

Who knows what the circumstances were, but when these things happen, helps you remember not to be to overconfident in these cars.

I live in the area, and we have been getting some serious rain lately, 1 inch in less than 30 mins the other day, very tragic accident. speed may not have been a factor, on Sunday there were seven of us coming back from Harry's funeral service on I4 and we were down to 45 mph and all hydro planning a bit, especially when an 18 wheeler flys by at 80 mph and covers you in water. Thoughts and prayers out to the young lady and her family.

I doubt excessive speed was the issue, it's hard enough to drive at the speed limit in the rain in these things. Likely the tires were old and it is so easy to hydro-plane GEN1-2's. I have video of losing complete control of my GEN1 on a damp track and spun off the track, fortunately unscathed. I was taking it easy and still broke loose.

This guy has to live with killing his GF for the rest of his life. So sad.

Remember all, "snake-bite" is very real. Drive 1/10's when it's raining and pretend it's ice.

i was caught in heavy rain with my wife coming back from a restaurant one time…it was a VERY unpleasant experience. i had to put two way blinkers on, we got into the right lane and i crawled at 45 mph , and still it felt like rear tires were sliding on ice. definitely we will never know the truth about this tragic accident but for sure rain and wet pavement had a major play in it. Be careful out there and always be alert.

I feel bad for the guy...6 tickets, DUI, and now this. He's faaakkked. Driving on a wet surface in a Viper, and doing it fast enough to wind up splitting the car in half? This guy is a stupid ass chimp.
