Any 'hidden' incentives out there for new in-stock 2006 models?

I'm still shopping around for a 2006 coupe, and it seems there are still quite a few brand new ones sitting on the dealer lots around the country. Anyone have an idea of what white/blue VOI9 coupes are selling for new? I've found that MSRP is $91,185 and that invoice on that amount is $84,122.

How much are they actually being sold for though?

I'm also interested in blue/white FE coupes, but not finding any of those new on the lot.

Good Luck. I was searching for a 2006 VOI9 for about a month. A lot of dealers have had them a while and are still not budging too much on price.

I haven't heard of any FEs still new out there. Doesn't mean there aren't any. Very desirable color combo.

I hear you. I'm not opposed to buying a used vehicle with low miles, just figured I'd find out what the new ones are selling for so that I could use that figure as a reference when dealing on used ones too.

I suppose when 2008s finally start arriving, dealers will be ready to dispose of the new 2006s pretty quickly.

I think I can safely say that there are not a lot of brand-new 2006's out there anymore. Of those that are (especially in Coupe form), the white/blue VOI 9 Editions are plentiful. I don't know that the dealers were given any factory incentives ($$) on those and thus may not be discounting them much if at all.

My advice: If you want a 2006 Coupe either settle on another color or be prepared to spend a little more on a VOI 9 white/blue. Contact our wonderful sponsoring dealerships (Woodhouse, Buehler, Roanoke, etc.) and they can get you rolling in no time! My guess is the remaining stock of '06's will go when people learn they can't buy the '08's with much (if any) of a discount and keep reading all the positive press about the Viper.

If I could find a blue no-stripe coupe, I'd consider one of those too.

Best bet is check Cars.com. They usually have the 2006 listed and the mileage.

Any decent dealer can run a locate and see what is available, and trade or buy it to bring it in for you.

Prices are all over the map and that $100k car will sit for a LONG time since they can be had for much less.

The new Viper is supposed to be $995.00 CHEAPER than the '06 and it's due to the improved gas mileage, so there's a $1,700.00 gas guzzler tax as opposed to the '06s $3k.

I think once the '08 hits showroom floors, any '06 still there will get real cheap real fast because not too many people will pay MORE for a car with LESS horsepower.

Bottom line...do some research and find out which car you REALLY want and then go buy it. When you pay this much for a car...don't settle for something you just "like."

Good luck finding a new Coupe. They are out there but you have to search for them. Also you are going to find dealers still trying to get MSRP or close to it. My advice is DO NOT pay over $75,000 for a coupe, unless it is a VOI car which tends to go for a little bit more. I would say stay under $75,000 on those too but that is going to be pretty hard since there are only 100 out there and that is working against you. I just saw one for sale for $79,000 brand new.

If you want to settle on a Convertible, you can get about $20,000 off sticker. They can be had for mid to low $60s.

06 will still be a very attractive car for new buyers,where a 06 used can be had between 65-69k and 08s will be over sticker or maybe sticker thats still a savings of 25 k or so over a 08.

Not true at all. Most dealers are charging around sticker. Indeed, with all due respect to those dealers that aren't, they should be. This model year is close to selling out entirely and the public is excited (not to mention a LOT of Viper owners). If people were willing to pay $10K over sticker for the PT Cruiser, VW Beetle, SRT8 (any flavor), etc., how can they be morons for spending $1 over on a car that is 100x more significant? Sorry dude, but I am going to have to call "" on this one.

Oh, and before you start quoting non-certified dealers (those that don't have a Viper tech) consider this: Dealerships have limited allocations for Vipers this time (no more "if we build them they will sell"). There are numerous dealerships that have little or no allocation, or who haven't had their Viper techs recently certified, that will gladly take your order for a great deal - you just won't get a car anytime soon. So put down your deposit and cross your fingers. When you see your buddy driving his '08 a year from now and you still don't have yours you may start to regret not being a "*****" like your friend.

With the sticker actually going DOWN for the 2008's and the horsepower going way up, now is the time to order yours - and be happy if you can get sticker.

Paying sticker in my opinion is not the smartest idea but when you think about it and put it in perspective, the amount of power and additions you are getting for the same price as 2006 is amazing. Are you speaking about the one at Urban Dodge? When I tried to trade in my very clean 1 owner 2002 yellow /bk stripes GTS with 12k miles on it they had the nerve to offer me only $20,000
Although that was supposedly with different ownership

DC motors in Anaheim has one listed on ebay for $79.9k with 22 miles, but it shows it as used yet "still in the wrapper"??

That one has silver stripes, but I agree it is a tempting price. I only work about 10 miles from that place, and I'm watching it on ebay at the moment.

Like someone else said above, I really *should* buy the ones I like and not settle, but I'd settle for a GREAT price

Low mileage used coupes are definitely an option, I was just asking how much they sell for new to get a comparison. If the prices were close I'd try to find a new one.

It would make more sense but dealers always put the price higher than what they are willing to take since they hope that they get lucky by some "dumb" average joe.
