Not liking the way the B&M shifts. Anyone else make one ? I have owned several race cars and never had a problem power shifting, until now.

Thank you for putting up the link XS TORQ.

For anyone browsing our web page is out of date. Working on building a new site with current pricing and pictures.

Here's a few pics of the SVS / Viper Short Throw Shifter.

Give us call if you have any questions. Thanks

Forgot the height adjustment bolts for SVS Shifter

The SVS close ratio shifter added with these bolts allow a shorter throw. 1" and 2" lower than stock. :)

I recently replaced my GTS' stock shifter with the latest version of the SVSI shifter.( I have an MGW first strike racing knob attached to the shifter). I am very pleased. It solved ALL the problems of the stock shifter. The second to third shift is perfect. The fear of ending up in first or fifth has been eliminated. The shifter is also obviously built to last.

I've just driven a '99 coupe with the Woodhouse shifter, and Rich D short shaft, it was how it should be. I did not like the B&M either. I run OE shifter, Rich D short shaft and MGW pistol grip knob; I brutally bang those gears and never a problem.

Just got in touch with Rich.

He was a great help and is sending me some parts to modify my B&M.

Will keep you posted.

Missed 3rd and hit 1st

On my 94 RT10 with my new factory transmission that was just changed out on the last of my extended warranty I had also changed out my shifter to the WoodHouse modified version, with a 3” bolt and the MGW shifter knob.

It looks ridiculously short, feels good with normal shifting and definitely faster than the stock shifter. For the 1st time in my life I hit 1st gear when going from 2nd to 3rd. Trust me, it won’t go into 1st when speed shifting but it will make a pile of noise where it will scare the shxx out of you and then your mad for doing something so stupid. It does not seem to have done any immediate serious damage except there appears to be a little more noise or a light wine from the tranny during deceleration.

I have driven standard transmissions all my life and have missed a few shifts like every one else but I have never hit the wrong gear like this. Is this a phenomenon with the new shifter, the shorter shifter or a combination of both? I never had this problem with the stock set up and I’m seriously considering going back to it. Rest assured I don’t want to even attempt speed shifting until I thoroughly understand exactly what and why this happened.

Does anyone have any ideas, experiences or suggestions?

Tim
