Any SRT10 Vipers install the Paxton NOVI2500 unit yet?

Curious, since most of us have the NOVI2000 unit. The 2500 is a direct bolt-in replacement for the 2000. I'm having my engine built to handle more boost, figured i'd upgrade the head unit at the same time.

Also, which companies offer an upgraded tensioner kit? Any photos of that installed?

Your going to be disappointed.

It has stronger bearings, but you will sacrifice boost across the curve more just a tad bit more peak boost.

i hear its not much of an upgrade. like said above. dont waste your money on it.

get yourself a set of pistons and rods, fuel system, turn up the boost and enjoy !

According to the Paxton site, the new 2500 flows 2000 cfm, versus the NOVI 2000's max of 1400 cfm. That 600 cfm difference is huge. The truth behind their respective performance lies in their pump [efficiency] curves. I was hoping to find them just like Vortech's, but apparently Paxton does not publish theirs. The new 2500 also expands its upper limit by 5000rpm (55000 v. 60000).

I would like to see back-to-back dyno with these two different SC's with the same pulley size.

I completely agree Tony, that blower does have a very nice broad curve. That 2500 can pump out 25% more air than the 2000, and their back-to-back dyno runs prove that with an almost 20% increase in power on the big end!!!

If for whatever reason it looses boost when compared to the 2000, couldn't you just swap pulleys?

Is that 1002 rwhp on boost alone, or ****/nitrous too? Sounds like your combo would benefit from the 2500 swap, so you can push 1200 rwhp.

you need to spin the 2500 at a really high RPM to see any difference in power. then you have a belt issue. there are plenty of 950+ rwhp (novi2000/no ****) cars out there, no need for the 2500.

im told the 2500 is much better suited for a mustang than it is the viper.

an 800rwhp car will not make 960rwhp (20% more) by simply switching to a novi2500

I think you will still be dissapointed in the Paxton, the power curve is just ****ty.


get turbos....1400 rwtq at 3000 rpm = fun for everyone, except the transmission.

Tiago, baby steps here. LME is building the engine to handle 1400 rwhp via turbo. I have too many project cars to modify, so I tend to do things a little at a time. I already have the Paxton, might as well use it for now. To be honest, I'd rather build another '69 Camaro to house 1K rwhp under the hood. ;)
