Anybody knows this guy ?

One of my buddies posted this on the R1 forum. Apparently this happened last Saturday during an exotic car cruise in the Bay area. The Viper guy went on the gas while driving through some water.

Where are the "photoshop-cops" when you need them?

Is it real? If so, I hope no one was hurt.

Shoes do make a big difference, I have to be pretty careful when wearing my clodhoppers with those close pedals.

My thoughts EXACTLY. Does anyone else drive with these elegant race sandals?

Well from the picture it looks like the viper was playing
cat and mouse games with the Toyota (?).... sorta like a
great dane wanting to have sex with a poodle.

But upon closer inspection, it could have been the NASCAR
racing shoes that the viper driver was wearing that was
the real cause and not the water explanation.

Or maybe thats the reason he was wearing the racing shoes
in the first place... to keep the water off the bottom of
his feet. :)

I've seen this type of racing shoe at the gym on several
people. But they weren't driving vipers at the time.

Was the RT involved in the accident at all? Looks to me like he just ran the curb. The Espirit looks like its going to make a mechnic very happy this week though. Well if it was someone here please post, I for one would like to here the story behind that footware...

One of my coworkers attended the Autozotica rally, so I got some of the story from an eye witness. He was several cars behind but had a clear view of the incident.

Seems it was early in the day, a bunch of exotics stopped at a red light. Turned green, the viper driver mashed the gas, lost control, got sideways across both lanes, slid in front of the Lotus, contact, and ended up as shown.

I heard the viper owner was from So Cal, had trailered up, and was mad at the lotus driver for not braking soon enough when the viper got sideways in front of him.

That didn't sound too cool.

all right then hotshot, explain why someone would take the time to fake a picture like this? if i was going to fake a wreck i would make it a bit more dramatic..

that silver looks a little deeper than most of the silvers i have seen in person... very nice..

The shadows would be hard to fake. Not impossible, but the time consuming nature of it and the potential reward would not equate.

If it was shot with a digital camera, sometimes the cameras do funny things with objects that are close and far away giving kind of a pasted on effect.

I personally like the go fast racing stripe on those fire retardant racing shorts, are those another fine product for the NASCAR/WWF fans? I suppose he had to dress himself that morning.

You heard it right. Not a real proud moment for Viper Nation.

I don't know who he is but maybe some SoCal guys might know him. If he's lurking out there he should chime in and give us his version of the crash...and be prepared to take a thrasing for the "NASCAR" racing shoes.

I'm surprised, especially with the close natured attitude of this group, that someone in the So Cal area with the tag "Serpent" wouldn't be able to be identified. Is there a member in the area that fits the description? Maybe we could call him and let him know there's a whole thread about his footware starting...

Geeez! Bonehead maneuver. If you can't control the back end of your Gen II on acceleration by now ... what with alllll the warnings and discussion on that subject then turn your viper in for re-use by someone who deserves it.

Does anyone else think his cranium looks too small for his body?

We're all assuming (myself included) that the guy in shorts in the picture is the owner/driver. Do we know this for a fact?

What bothers me the most about the pic is the fact that all the windows are up / in, with the top off - geez, during the day in SoCal, how cold could it have been if people are in shorts?!

The windows are tinted. They need to be up or everyone would see him picking his nose.

This really happened. I was on the cruise with about 40-50 exotices leaving Livermore to rendevous with another 30 or so.
With the advent of photoshop a lot of dabblers in it start thinking they see things and call "fake". it's photoshop hysteria.

Believe me, i am sure the Lotus owner wishes this whole thing was a fake.

AND..What's the deal with that right hand? Isn't that just a bit TOO DEEP for the casual laid back look of So Cal??? Was it driven to that depth in the accident or is this just a covert ***** depression technique. And why the wood??? Inquiring minds....

Either he was beatin' off in the car which is why he crashed (and he's finishing up now) ... or he's one of those weirdos that gets off on car crashes. There was a movie about that a few years ago. Can't remember the name.

Yeah he's definitely playing some pocket pool there. Good eye City.

I think it was called Crash, but that doesn't sound right. Its the one where the couple fall in love/lust after an accident becasue they both got off on it. Then they went around stealing various cars to have sex during the moment of impact. I always wanted to rent that video but its always been out. Oh well.

I found humor in the guy wearing the black shirt - when I first saw this pic I though he was trying to ninja kick the Lotus off of the shrubbery...
