Everytime I get in my car, I've got to pull back my floormat and straighten it up or else it bunches under the gas pedal and I can't get full throttle.

Does any place make better fitting floormats which doesn't cause this?

Take two zip ties one on each rear corner poke a hole through each corner of the mat and zip tie them to the lower edge of the seat frame on each side. may rip the mat though if you put to much foot sliding pressure on them but it works. Jerry

Matt:

There's been much discussion about this (actually there's been much discussion about pretty much everything). You should replace the Mopar mats with one of several available "thick rubber backed" mats. They're available from SnakeOyl and Proformance (site sponsors) and there are a few California Chapters that make an excellent replacement upgrade. The SnakeOyl and Proformance mats are generally referred to as "Tapestry" mats. I bought the Proformance version and they're excellent! VERY thick and they matched my congnac/saphire blue exactly. I think you'll be satisfied with any version of these mats (all are a bit pricey - at least twice the cost of the Mopar mats).

The real risk with the stock floormats isn't lack of full throttle, but stuck full throttle! (I know from experience)

Preferring the stock understated look, I choose to install black painted grommets in the rear corners and wire them to the front seat. Grommet kit available at any hardware store for about $7.00.

In my '96 I always had a problem and just lived with the constant adjusting of the mat.

In the '01, the rear hatch release bracket is in the way of the mats, so I unscrewed it, put the mat underneath and re-screwed it down. The mat ain't goin' nowhere.

Anyone else done this? I can't see how you could use the mat otherwise.

I have the floor mats from the NorCal VCA and they're great! No movement out of them whatsoever, and they look great too! I'd highly recommend them.
