Just wondering if anyone is going to this? Never been on or to a track. Was thinking this might be a good experience. Do we have to bring anything other than our car to participate? Also any hotel recommendations nearby?

On Saturday August 17th and Sunday August 18th, VCA Ohio's signature track day(s) will be held in conjunction with NARRA (Viper Days) for the first time! This will be an extraordinary event.

Let me assure you that it would be a GREAT experience ! You should not pass up the opportunity. The one thing you do need is a helmet. You will need to contact them to see if they might have loaners; but, I would not net on it.
For your car, you should make sure that you have good tires, pretty recent brake pads (i.e., pad is not worn much) and should have good clear brake fluid; preferably no more than a year or two old, IMHO.
Beware, this can become addictive if you really like driving your car fast.

Awesome. Trying to register now. Is there a sipped shop on or around the track that I could pick up a helmet at? Would like to be able to try it on rather than ordering one online. Thanks for the info, excited about this.

I am not from your region, so, don't know specifics about where you might try out a helmet. Make sure that you get a Snell Automotive rated helmet, not motorcycle.Very few track organizers allow motorcyle rated helmets. If buying a new helmet, you'd be looking for a Snell SA2010 rated helmet. Read through this thread: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/650803-Cheap-Racing-Helmets At least last year, Helmetcity.com offered VCA member discounts and they have a great return/exchange policy if you get the wrong size.
