I will be in the neighborhood the week of the 4th of July and thought I might get a tour. I read in the Viper magazine to just give the VCA a call to set it up. But before I make the drive I wanted to ask others if they had gotten the tour and how it was. Was there any formalities? I won't have my car with me is that bad? Any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can't bring your car in with you, so it doesn't matter if you didn't bring it! :) Its not like anybody goes outside to see what you drove up in.

The time I went, on the tour I was lumped in with a really dumb high school class that was there that day. (Ask if you can avoid this when you go!) Their teacher monopolized the conversation with such stimulating questions as "How much does it cost?" and "Where can you get it serviced?". This distraction pre-empted the tour guide from getting into any really interesting stuff.

Still, it was great to see the birthplace, while the Gen2 was still being built. Bring a camcorder with you, take lots of footage.

i have been there at least a dozen(only 25 min. from my house) times and enjoy it every time. I have taken factory delivery of all three of my Vipers at CAAP. they may or may not let you bring a camera in, or at least tell you certian areas where no photos are allowed. keep you credit card handy for the corner store(in CAAP), lots of cool viper stuff. what are you coming into town for?

From what I recall at the last tour I went to cameras were no longer allowed.

Bummer on the camera but not surprising. I got a tour of Ducatti in Italy and they were the same. They let me take my camera but no pictures. Perhaps I can "persuade" them if there is a small group. The magazine says they are only allowing VCA folks now. Is this true? I would much prefer a small group.

My wife is from the area (Jackson). So, we are finally visiting some of her family. Since I'm not a big fan of Michigan (no offense) or meeting relatives I figured I would make the best of it. Lucky for me my wife agreed.

I plan to call soon before it's too late. Once I get a date I'll post it and see if any of you would like to meet. Thanks for the info as always!
