Viperholics,

It's time for me to install new plug wires. Here's my choices:

1.) Stock wires
2.) Mopar Performance wires - blue - 8.5mm - part #5007159

From my research, I think they have the same cores, but the performance wires hold up better to heat. Other than that, should perform identical, I would think. My question is this: Does anyone have a picture of these wires installed? I have a '98 Silver/Blue GTS, and would mainly want them for looks. I'm also assuming you use the same looms, with no problems. FYI - They are about $20 difference in price.

Thanks in advance.

From my limited understanding there are two different versions
of the blue wires...

Those with and those without the heat shielding booties...

The ones with the booties look very serious and the ones
without the booties look like your standard blue wires with
grey end caps...

On your car either one would look good. They are a nice addition
to any viper as they tend to break up the red/black under the
hood. They are more a powder blue than a bright qwady blue.

Sorry I don't have pics.... but I have seen them on some of
the avitars... just clik on a few and you will see them...

Get the high temp wires they are only a little more $. I believe stock wires are 8.0 mm verses 8.5 for high temp, if that makes a difference. The boots are unrelated to the wires, you can use the insulated boots on either set. I think they are an extra $60 or so can't remember but the boots are not really needed unless you have headers. Here is a pic from my website of the blue wires with boots, this was without a heat shield which I now have on the car.

MES,
Do your self a favor and put your heat sheilds on! We lost a customers car [97GTS] because he did not put his heat sheilds on after installing the headers!! The headers melted the Power Steering Pump Reservoir and up went the Viper in FLAMES!

You guys are the best. Ask, and you shall receive. I think the blue wires add a nice touch to the engine bay. Gonna go BLUE....

Thanks again.

I have the blue wires and boots on the car, along with blue silicone rad hoses. IMHO it sets off the engine compartment nicely, I like it.

The Mopar plug wires we use are the blue ones with the high-temp boots bonded to them. They're ultra-high quality with very low resistance and are standard equipment on our Gen II Lethal packages.
For pricing, please email or call me directly.
