havent seen vinyl, but i decided to go with paint just to have a truer and cleaner look as opposed to the vinyl which might look like an afterthought

Vinyl looks ok from 10 ft but up close doe not have that shine of paint, if your a long term owner go with paint if not I would do vinyl it costs about a fifth as much.

Check out my vivatar... these are vinyl stripes.. I went with
vinyl because....

1) I'd like to be able to bring the car back to stock
2) To paint stripes on correctly you have to take the car apart.
3) Cheaper to do
4) If they get all dinged up I can just replace that small section.
5) They do look good, ( not cheap looking ) if the correct vinyl
is used...

6) I went with these style stripes to make sure people know they are
custom.

7) If I sell the car the person buying the car can have a choice of
stripes or no stripes. Easy to change either way.

Good Luck

I had e mailed Dixters avitar to a friend last week. Notice the stripes around the duct in the hood and the pin stripes. Gives it a custom and a little different look. Nice. My friend is considering doing them on a 01 Sapphire blue.

ViperTime, I had mine painted. Three coats of black, seven coats of clear. I saw Dixters pic, and decided to go around the cowl on the hood as well. The guy pulled the glass, raised the car to paint all areas. Looks great, total cost $2,200

Dixters' car is stunning. Very tasteful. All the details are great: pin stripping around the stripes, the chrome wheels, the Dodge logo, the new emblems. Stunning.

Vipertime, There is another option for you. There's a guy in the
North Texas Viper Club that has a car that is fantastic. His name
is Steve Wayne and you won't believe his car and how he has put it
together. The club meets each month and Steve is there most of the time with his car. He's a super nice guy and will answer all questions about his car. I'd wait and see his before I make up
my mind on stripes or not. The meet is also a good place to
see other Vipers and what they've done with their cars... last
month we had over 45 Vipers show.
Here is the web site with calendar for you...
http://www.viperclub.org/menus/index_members_regions.htm

Hope to see you there soon.

P.S. Thanx for the compliments on my car, its hard not to like
Red with white stripes... well its hard not to like any Viper for
that matter ..
