Anyone run their car in ITE? If so, what "Enduro racing series" did your car
come from to allow ITE classification? Viper Days?

I have a car that has an old SCCA logbook and apparent tech inspection passed by a Steve Pederson, but no documentation as to what endurance series the car
came from. I think I need this to get a new logbook.

Help...

I've seen many Vipers run in ITE here in the Northeast. Some say the "E" is also for "Experimantal" and "Everything else" when you can't classify it put it in ITE. You will have loads of fun in this class and will have lots of competition from Vettes and Porsches. There is a "legendary" twin turbo white ITE 944 seen at Watkins Glen with a big aluminum wing that actually ran best time of weekend...beat all GT1 AND all the open wheel cars too!!!...scary fast...you will have fun!

Just call SCCA Tech in Topeka (800) 770-2055 and ask them what you have to do.

all ran race versions of GTSs in ITE...you will need to have a proper cage and follow the 2004 GCR.

I don't have any numbers but to beat open wheel cars like FA is a TALL order....it had that cool "chirp" of the twin turbos during shifts. It was white with a big aluminum wing and it was always kept covered in the garage...at least everyime I was there.

post your results after your first ITE race. Good luck!

Gentlemen: Yes, loads of fun, the viper competes real well in this category, my 96 Viper Days GT-1 spec car set class track records at three different tracks on its first outing in this class. My fondest memory is of Rd Atlanta ARRC, a prestigious race with plenty of opportunity if one likes that track. If your car was previously teched' you will re-tech with a modest amount of scrutiny. Go for it!

Bob is indeed legendary on many tracks..and Sonny I agree with your point about competitive if you do not include T1.

eeeehhhmmm...unless you have greased SCCA (GM=Grease Machine) for so long so hard that you now have PRO in your back pocket too...T1 should just be called Corvette challenge...waste of time for Vipers...they keep handing mods to the vettes and we can't even get more tire or the restrictor plate removed...to really highlight what I mean...SCCA now gives mods to the upcoming T2 caddy CTS-V BEFORE is has even turned a single lap..please pass the jelly!!!

Stick with ITE...when you are unlimited you make yer own rules....you won't have florida vette drivers geting smoked by a fast Viper at Daytona and then whining and crying to SCCA and online about slowing down the Vipers.

Hey Bob,
I ran the double regional SAARC/MARRS race at VIR may 8,9th. I DNF'd on saturday by breaking my shifter (old version of B&M) leading the ITE pack. I yanked it out and welded it back in and finished 1st on Sunday. Weee! My times **** compared to VRL laptimes (qualified 2:07) but this was done without aero (front splitter ripped off in qualifying offtrack turn 2, so I removed wing as well) and some pretty messed up brake bias. Never drove this car before. Very fast and will be much better balanced when I make some changes to the brakes and corner weights. Its John Griecos old car. That guy must have been a maniac using his "hybrid" Stoptech front/porsche big red rear combo. Hope to drive like him someday (2:02's)

Cant wait for my first VRL race (hopefully) in July.

PS - anyone have a way to host a pretty sweet pic of my car up-front? Its cool because the car is all ghetto (no wing/splitter) and tape holding the nose together. lol. And a porsche GT3 trying to catch me.

From another Cornhusker,
John
