What's wrong with the two post style? Its less than 9' tall and all 4 wheels are accessible. Does anyone use that style?

I agree. But the 2 post models are twice the price, and for occasional use, the tilter would be great. For more frequent use, then something that allows access to all 4 wheels would be needed.

Regular service and brake changes and the odd mod, I would think the tilter would do the trick?

I have had a four post lift from Autolifters for about 3 years. I have had numerous problems with this unit and I would avoid purchasing any type of lift from them.

There are many other manufacturer's with better and more trouble-free units. Just my opinion !

Does anyone have experience with the tilt lift? Seems to me this would be a great balance between being economical and accommodating garages with just the normal overhead clearance. Note my garage has the master bedroom built over most of it...So my total clearance from floor to ceiling is ~ 9 feet.

I saw an episode of my classic car with this type of lift. The problem i see here is that you are still using a jack. Although the whole car can be lifted pretty easily. Another problem is that its still not that easy to take off your wheels.
