ANYWAY are those your two Vipers under car covers sitting in your driveway that I see on Google street view ?

Ha, no. Mine are in the garage :D

That is another one I bought for a customer that I had brought into town the day before, and the other was being stored for a customer who was having the concrete in his garage done. That would be ironic that Google went down the street that day... that was probably 2010 or 2011.

Ok I averaged the age from this thread , only taking easily relevant ages and my own and "I knew a guy that was 77". What I came up with was 42.7714286..... How old am I? Who cares? Drive safe and enjoy  :drive:

Wow. Lots of hostility in here. Relax everyone! It's a car, not a 12" member. No need to get all riled up. Just remember how awesome 22 was and smile. Ahhh, there we go!

Not bragging whatsoever, I bought my viper when I was 17 Ive worked hard from the age of 12 saving money to get a car when I turned 16. I had money saved up and decided I wanted a new challenger srt8 when I turned 16 they just came out. Well I sold 5 cars over the summer and my daily driver and saved up the extra cash and realized that a new challenger would depreciate and I would lose money. Long story short Ive always wanted a viper, found one I could afford and I bought it. I get all the negative comments such as "Daddys car" or "take that home before your dad finds out" and also what drugs do you sell. I buy and sell chrysler cars, pt cruisers, Dodge Durangos that my dad taught me to work on. Everyone I have met has been very respectful and there are the few who weren't but I just ignore them smile and tell them have a nice day. Most of them just want to get a rise out of you.

I'm 31 now and still don't own a Viper, although I've told my wife tht as soon as her Edge is paid off I'm buying one. I've talked to many Viper owners in person and never had a problem with any of them, even the guy with the rare silver/blue '98 GTS who caught me taking pics of his car in a parking lot. I wasn't even in my Neon R/T at the time either

34 here. I've always been a Ford guy. My first car was a 93' Cobra and 5 Saleens later I smartened up and went to the dark side. Never thought I'd move to a Dodge, but love every minute of enjoying my GTS.

I don't know about Viper owners as a group; but, my average age seems to keep rising every year. ( so far)

I bought my first 04 srt10 at 25. Sold it 6 months later cause I was an idiot and didn't like having a $400 payment. Bought a 99 rt10 6 months later. Sold it about a month ago. Picked up another 04 srt10 last week that I could afford without a payment. I'll probably hold on to it until I'm ready to buy another house or I can afford to pay cash for a gen 4. I'm 26 now.

Bought my first Viper at 21 (22 now). Seem to get along with the majority of the Viper community. As long as you respect others, they will respect you! There will always be a few guys out there that are stuck up, can't do anything but ignore them.
Ya lol total waste of time there bragging to a guy that owns the same car you do lol.. Maybe his eagerness to fit in came off as bragging.. At 21 I would killed my self in a Viper.. loL

Got my 04 when I was 22 or 23 and my 06 when I was 25 ( 27 now). Never had anyone in the viper community give me crap. Everyone around here seems cool for the most part. Unfortunately with work so busy I haven't done anything with the VCA in a year.

I've had several sports cars over the years. Bought my 96 GTS at the ripe age of 42. If I had this car in my twenties, I would be dead....either from an accident or all the poonanny. You young guys out there: enjoy your car, ignore the haters, and get all the pooty tang you can. And respect the torque, or YOU WILL DIE.

I've met a couple and they were in their mid 40s and they were complete ********** to me, and I think it was because I was young..

That is a common attribute among Viper owners unfortunately. In general, Viper owners make Porsche owners look like Wayne Brady. I realized this shortly after looking to make the purchase of a Gen2. It's the only car I have bought that I was happy to buy from a dealer instead of the owner. It's one of the reasons I refuse to pay for a VCA membership.

There are some very nice people in the local club. Did you attend one of the functions and have a bad experience? If so, that was not typical and it was unfortunate.

I hate to bump something so old, but I want to give my input.

I also got my viper at 17, and I still have it over 5 years later. I worked hard cleaning construction sites and doing basic framing from 14-17 and saved about 70% of what I made, to match my parent and buy an 03. I credit my terror of wrecking it or hurting myself with keeping me alive, it only took one time getting on it, looking down and seeing 140 to learn a ton of respect.

Certain Viper community members have be more than helpful, including JohnB to a great deal.

That said, tons of muddle age people are jealous ****s. While constantly telling young people they don't deserve their car and will kill themselves, they miss the tons of kids with 3 series and suvs easily worth over 40k. I only live in Seattle too, not LA or even Dubai.

Well I'm one of the Older crowd age wise but Newer to viper. 62 yo and have only hand my '97 for 3 weeks. I have about every car that I felt was a nice car that I have owned. The Viper has been on my hit list and would have had it sooner but in 1999 and 24 years of marriage my now ex decided I didn't need to be around. After paying lawyers and the like it took a few years to get back on my feet.... I did end up with all my toys with the exception of a'87 Buick Grand National.... found another one with 25k on the clock to replace it, so its all good. I love the Viper it was a sweet ride from Michigan to Kansas City area. After that long trip back I have not one thing bad to say about it. You have to realize what you are driving. I drive a Wrangler every day, enough said. Great forum guys. As for the younger guys If you bought it yourself, Congratulations on getting it sooner to enjoy it more. I have had a '63 coup since '75 and drive it like I stole it.

Title- Funny, I got my first at 26, still have it, and my favorite car, ever.

Need- You are FAR from "old" especially when you are behind the wheel of one of these. I've got guys in my club in their 80s (no kidding) and they have a blast.

I HOPE when i'm 100+ I'm STILL having a blast in a viper, while all these young punks enjoy their auto-drive toasters (prius'). Glad you got the 97 (best car ever, my first), and I'm glad you found the real fountain of youth...

I bought mine when I was twelve, god knows how hard I'd worked for it, paper route, moonlighting at Seven Eleven and going to school. I had spent a lifetime pineing over the car I so deserved..... The first couple I met, at the Viper Corral were 20 something year olds and boy were they ever douches....
