Does anyone know where to find gaskets for the 2 (3" three bolt collectors) & the 4 (two bolt collectors). I know that they don't usually use them and you are supposed to use hi temp sealer, but I have sealed them 3 times and they still leak at the collectors. Gaskets sandwiched between might not last forever, but at least they will stop the problem for a while. I spoke to ballanger a few months ago and they didn't have them. They told me pep boys, but the people there just scratched their heads. Any help would be appreciated.

Marc, you might try to locate a "FEL-PRO" gasket kit # 2001. This is a common collector gasket kit for 3 inch pipes and 3 bolts with 3&7/8" bolt circle. FEL-PRO gaskets can be found in the Federal-Mogul Corp. catalogue. Don't know about the 2 bolt set up.

Marc -

I have the gaskets available for you but I HIGHLY recommend (I know this stinks) removing the entire system and resurfacing the flanges; You won't get the gaskets to seal very long (if at all!) with the flanges warped.

Good Luck,
Doug

You can get Fel-Pro from Jegs.com for the 3" three bolt collector, works fine but DO NOT GET Mr. Gasket they don't last long. Make sure you have bolts with lock nuts/washers because if they become loose it will burn out the gasket due to blow by. About the 2 bolt flange I don't know, but there was a recent thread about that if you try a search.

Mark I had a post about this problem with leaking Belangers about a week ago (April 18) you might want to look it up.

The gaskets are sold at Pep Boys # NEA EX-5 replaces FEL-PRO 9547 for the 2 1/4" flanges. Get the version with the metal 0-ring I beleive it replaces the older version without the metal 0-ring. I know the version without the 0-ring doesn't work (burns out) but I don't know yet if the metal 0-ring does work. The 3" gasket is standard collector gasket. These leaking flanges have been a big pain for me I'm hopeing the metal 0-ring works.
