Battery tender conection

I have a 99 gts and want to connect a battery tender for the winter. The positive post is easy to find, but what do you connect the negative clip to???

Look straight down from the positive terminal, on the sill sort of and you will see a black wire/cable thingy with a silver nut on it. That's where I attach mine.

I wasn't sure where to attach mine either. Two of my neighbors are mechanics, one of them said any where in the engine bay on steel, but no aluminum and no where near the fuel lines. Any steel bolt that is attached to a decent sized metal piece should be good.
