Battery tender/maintainer

Looking to buy a battery tender for my 2008 SRT10 viper. What model would you recommend?

I've read some posts where people have been able to run connection leads out the back of the car for easy connection without having to mount the tender in the car. How well does this work? Any tricks you use?

If it is a coupe, it is easy. Remove the battery cover to access the battery. Hook up the pigtails to the battery. Put back together. You can then reach the pigtail from the slot under the bumper to attach the tender when you want to use it.

I haven't looked at a convertible, so I don't know if it the same.

I recommend either a Ctek 7002 or a Pulse Tech 010x100. Of the two, the Ctek is the most useful as it can even recharge a dead battery using Supply mode. The Pulse Tech won't charge a battery that has dropped below 7 volts or so.

How well does it work? It works as designed and intended. The positive connection directly to the battery terminal and the negative to the 10mm screw that's near the battery holder on the frame.

I got eleven years out of the stock battery just hooking up to the jump start electrode under the hood and used the alternator bracket bolt as the ground. Park, hook up, and roll car cover over. Easy and done.

Just get the optional Deltran tender extension cord and cig. plug. Plug into the 12v power adapter inside the car, crack the window down just enough to allow the cord to exit when door is closed. Been doing this for years now with great and easy results.
