Best SRT \"Heads Only\" Set Up?

I want to upgrade the heads on my '05 SRT. I think I want to have my stock heads sent out for work, so I can keep the matching engine numbers ... (I'm in Texas, and don't know who to trust to do this)

I understand that the stock SRT-10 rocker ratio is 1.73, so it seems like the 1.7s that evryone talks about are actually a step backward. 1.75s would seem like the ratio to go with. Jesel makes these, but they require a valve cover spacer. (However, I'd like the engine to 'look' stock ...)

WestCoast told me that the stock springs can handle 1.75s, so it seems there's no need to upgrade the springs (only stronger push rods are needed). So ...

If I get a valve job with oversize valves, are there any roller rockers out there that come 1.75, but don't require a valve cover spacer on an SRT? Who does good work for the money?

If you are going to all the trouble and spending the money to port the heads, replace the valves with larger ones, and changing out rockers, why not buy a good set of springs. Just because the spring doesn't bind with 1.75's doesn't mean that they are performing at the optimum level. Before you make a decision, call Greg Good and talk to him about your thoughts and plans. He'll do an excellent job on your heads and is a pleasure to deal with. He can answer all of your questions and more. I apologize for not having his shop phone number, but I lost my phone awhile back along with my contact list. I'm sure someone here has his number they can post.

Hey Viper man,

1st the heads are not serial-ed. 2nd if you are worried about originallity, You should do what I did with my gen 2, get a second set of heads, keep your oem ones.. oem. And modify the spare set you buy. That way, if you ever find someone who wants your car "stock" you can return it to that, and still ahve a great set of heads you can sell. Also if you keep the car for 20 years and its worth something, its almost always worth more being ORIGINAL then it is modified.

My 2 cents.

PS. I actually have a set of srt-10 '04 heads if your interested. I was going to use them on a gen 2, but it might just be easier to get another set of core heads for a gen 2, then to modify the gen 3's to work on my car.

I think a head swap would run about $3500 if I'm not mistaken. How much do you guys think it would run me to beef up the entire motor? Pistons, rods, cam etc? Just for parts because I would probably do my own work.
