So I had one of my guys order me the new SuperSport for the rear. Got them to Discount Tire in 3 days - I'm loving it because everyone is telling me good luck, there is a nation wide shortage and you won't get them anytime soon. So I drive to Discount yesterday and find out my guy ordered 20", not 19".... Figured, he ordered them same time as my Jeep tires which are 20's.

Sooooo, the only choices that I could have on the car by next weekend (round up) were PS2's - Hell NO. Cups - NO (don't like having to warm up) - & Nitto 05r's.

Bought the Nitto 05r's - not crazy about Nittos (tyipcally buy MIchelin, Dunlop & BFG) simply because have no experience with them other than the Terra Graplers that came on my Wife's H2, not really a good comparison.

Well drove it the 5 miles from Discount to the shop & so it sits until the round up next week. Still have the skin on the tires. I read these Nittos are real sensitive to the 1st heat cycle so I want to burn them in correctly :D

Not much of a review, but the Monday after the Round Up I'll be able to give one.

"were PS2's - Hell NO. Cups - NO (don't like having to warm up)" Same for me here!

Awesome to hear about the new tires and;

I will be all ears on what you have to say about the 05R's. Hopefully you like them and that will help me even more to choose on the new tires for mine in these coming week or next one.
thanks!

I have the Nitto's on one car and the MT's on the other. The nittos spin all over the damn place with less HP. The MT's the hook like crazy.

So after the weekend on the Nittos here are my thoughts:

Immediately noticed the car felt as if my rear sway bar had been disconnected. However under acceleration (didn't have to be very hard), car felt very stable and planted. Talked to guys at ART and was told to run 28-29 psi in the tires. Check my tires and was at 36. Dropped them to 31, much better. As for grip: I can almost stand on it in 1st now and can in 2nd. The warm up time needed is little to none. I did have to let air out of the tires 2 more times on Sat during the round-up drive, in addition to the initial air-down at ART on Friday.

Once you get used to it it's not so bad. On hard cornering the car felt very planted but you do have to wait and let the car settle after making a steering input. Kind of like driving an off-road vehicle, wait for the suspension to catch the weight shift, then apply power.

I am running extremely fat and down to 600/700 at the wheels, but they seem to hold the power very well.

Thanks for your reply. Good to hear on how much pressure is good to run in them too.

I order the tires this morning. Went with the no5s on the front and the respective drag radials on the rear. I think it will be fine especially before the 3:55s and I'm also making less power than yours.

Nice!

It worked out great!

1st gear rolling slowly and on they hook extremely well with the 3.07s. Definitely night and day difference from the stock pilot cups.

How do you like the 3.55s?

Once you go 3.55s you won't ever want to go back! Thats the way the car should have came from the factory and SRT has finally realized this:drive: By far the best mod available to gen 4s!

That is awesome!

Are you running the 1/4 mile too or only did that mod for street fun?

Thanks!
