Dave -

Glad to hear your ok. The person best to speak with regarding insurance increases would be your agent. Depending on your policy, if you haven't had an accident within 5 years you may have no increase -or- you may be assessed with a surcharge for the next 36 months, It all depends on your policy. Surcharges are usually very minimal with your record, don't worry. Talk to your agent.

Best of Luck,
Doug

David, old timer! One of the FIRST guys on the FIRST VCA boards, back in 1993-94 !!!

Since this was a 1-car accident, and you have well-documented the obscured, ill-maintained surface, you may have a "NON CHARGEABLE" incident.

I would aslo share your photos with your county's "RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER" and see if you can help shift some liability, at least in the eyes of your Ins Co. There OBVIOUSLY was a sand truck that spilled sand, and see if there are ant police reports (day-log entries) that day of the sand being reported. IF SO, the county or State may have to pay a portion of the bill, unless a local sand/gravel company is responsible.

I was told that Non-Chargeable incidents would not increase your premiums. I would still double check with your insurance agent.

I had a my fault fender bender.
my neighbor accross the street parked his car at the end of my driveway.

you guessed it boom.

i backed my lincoln navigator into it.
no damage at all to the navigator his little ricer. $1500.00
drivers door ended up on the drivers seat.
glass shattered everything.
crushed it like a pop can.
my insurance did not go up a dime with state farm
clean record till then.

good luck

I had some excitement yesterday experiencing my first automobile accident ever, and I'm wondering what the impact to my car insurance premiums are gonna be. I'm fine, I was actually obeying the speed limit, and it was a single car accident, and my driving record is as clean as a whistle. I have Progressive insurance, if it matters. Could anyone provide me a rough feel for how badly my current $880/year premium is going to change?
Thanks,
Dave
