I just had a fun time upgrading my yellow, incandescent dash lights to the blue LEDs. I'm really pleased with the results and wanted to share a photo for those who might be considering this...

Its tough to tell in your photo, but assuming they are the the same as mine, they border on UV. This causes the orange needles and text to really "pop" off the dials.

The blue look sick! Is the installation very difficult?

Time consuming, yes. Difficult, No. As long as you have the tools and know the process, its not bad. The "scariest" part is the removal of the steering wheel *OR* dropping the steering column down to get the panel out of the way. The rest is fairly simple.

You need:
-A few Phillips screwdrivers and a T-20 Torx driver
-A few open end wrenches
-Steering wheel puller and/or a socket set for steering wheel or column

What Dan said. Not tough at all, considering how deep into your dash you end up digging. Both the speedo cluster and instrument cluster just unscrew and unplug very easily once you get there. The LEDs need to go in the right way since they are a diode now instead of an incandescent light. So be sure to plug it in before you reassemble and swap polarity (meaning: turn it 180 degrees) on any that didn't light up the first time.

I didn't pull my steering wheel, and was able to do this just fine. Aside from some screws along the bottom, the main bezel literally just pops off. The challenge is getting it around the steering column (after you've removed that trim -- 2 screws) but if you take it slow, it's not bad. Kind of like one of those bar puzzles where you have to find just the right angle to allow it to extract...

Mine dim very similarly to the OEM lights. LEDs usually have a hard time with this function, but these seem to work okay.

The Gen-3/4 cars use a PWM based dimmer, not resistance based- this works perfectly for LED's.

We will be putting together some basic e-mailable instructions soon. This is not an installation loaded with "secrets", is more of a "remove a screw, remove a panel, see a screw, remove it, remove a panel" type process. Much of the process is actually done with clips- not even screws.

This will make a good winter project, I'll order mine soon. (Also need to renew my Venom)

Do you have pics of the climate control / key lights please?

Not yet, no. I have a customer with a set on order- when he installs, I will post a picture.

If I get a chance, I might be able to plug in a side cluster as an example.

Bryan -

That looks awesome. It would be perfect for my 09 GTS Blue w/white vert. How many bulbs are we talking about for this? It's got to be at least 12, no? This is probably an all day mod I would imagine. A nice mod to do during these cold Winter months!
