I like those much better than the ones I have now. did you have to cut or weld anything? Or just "brute force" the old ones out?

just squirted with WD40 and left to soak for a few minutes, had a beer and they slipped off quite easily with a twist and pull, although on installation all the fittings/threads/nuts even though they are stainless had been coated with copper grease spray (a regular procedure with everything I bolt on) to help prevent corrosion and ease removal

No welding or cutting, just a 15mm socket needed, took less than 15 minutes and 10 of those was supping on a beer, I think having a beer was the most important part of the task :)

The million dollar question is then, "where can I get a set of these gorgeous tips?" I've hated my Borla tips ever since I put the system on.

..eerrr I guess
www.borla.com is a good place to start

maybe some of the usual vendors could order them, Baz's system came from Roe Racing

(hopefully they will sell them separately from the exhaust)

All i did was remove the rear muffler and mesure it then put a 15 degree bend in at the end as the new tips slide on straight...

Baz - how does it sound without the rear mufflers? Thanks!

Tryed it with to start with (well a day) sounded a lot better but not quite right..
But with out them it sounds a lot deeper a meaner awsome on tickover..
The advantage is if you dont like it you can just put the muflers back in as it is just a straight piece of pipe..(unless you change your tips)

What was the reason behind the 15% bend? Was it so that tips will be straight vs. angled?

Thanks

Hi
The Borla tips have an angle on them were they slot onto the Borla system..Where as the Snakeoyl tips do no so to get them to exit straight i had to get a 15 degree angle put on the pipe so the tips would slide on and exit straight..

gave the new Borla tips a good hiding tonight, went and met Baz at a fast and furious type show a few hundred maxed up motors, you know the ones were the kids were the base ball caps backwards.. got a V1 laser reading on the way out
with a policeman hiding in the trees in the dark, whats all that about !

anyway the tips are definately louder than the slash cut, removing the internal pipe makes the exhaust noticeably louder in car cruising at highway speeds and going hard through the gears
