Tim, this has been discussed in the past here... Some feel that the cone style filters may suffer somewhat in performance because they are not shielded or enclosed, and tend to take in some of the higher temperature air under the hood and behind the radiator, whereas the K&N's in the stock or aftermarket airbox should emit cooler air from the NAACA duct only. I personally have a cone style system (like the BTR set-up) and like the looks and performance (I've had both). I don't know if anyone has positively proven there is a performance loss or gain with either set-up, but perhaps others will comment.

I think the performance difference between the various options is minimal and I don't think anyone has ever tested the different systems on the same car on the same day on a dyno to get a good comparison.

I bought the BTR system based on the looks and received good service from Tom. My car is not on the road yet so I can't comment on its performance.

I have seen the Hennessey carbon fiber box - which looks great but I could justify the $1,200 price tag.

Let us know which system you pick.

I have the BTR system. I really like it, Great looks. Best customer service you ll ever get from Tom. Helps you through out the installation and always there when you need help. I still did nt dyno the car, so I cant talk about performance gains.

Actually it has been done. See this archived thread: http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000127.html The BTR intake (referred to as the Balanger intake in the post) showed a gain of 5RWHP and 8RWTQ over smooth tubes and filters. These were back to back runs, but as always, YMMV.
