I just got the new C&D and the Viper lost again to the ZR1. I'll post some numbers and some quotes in a bit

Seems like a tie at best? Won some, lost some... Still unacceptable! Any track testing other than 1/4 mi times?

What's up with the brake fade comments? Can't recall anyone ever talking about brake fade with the Gen 3/4 or acr?

Still looks like a difference in grip provided by the tires.

Wow! Look at the 0 to 150. That's a huge difference in pwr. We need twin turbos or supercharger.

Look at the 0 to 150. A full second faster. That's 10 car lengths. Thats huge. I think it's the supercharger helping. Force fed.

I agree that's when the supercharger really starts to shine. I would be interested in the performance past that and see if the torque of the Viper can fight the wind drag better or if the ZR1 keeps pulling away. The 1/4 mile seems to point to the Vette, it's a tenth slower but 2mph faster. Has anyone performed a 0-200mph with these yet. Win or lose, who cares. I have been curious if the comments about Fiat neutering the car to keep it below the Ferrari is going to leave a lot of room for the aftermarket to show its real performance.

I'm not sure because the Viper doesn't make more torque than the ZR1.

I'm still confused by the "bad seats" and "brake fade" complaints. Since 2003, the brakes have been damn good, and I've never heard anyone complain about fading issues. Is this the exact same car that MT tested, or did SRT ***** the brakes? With the brake hardware, did they just completely screw up on the pads?
As for the seats, I find them really comfortable in my Gen III. The bolstering not only keeps you in place for hard driving, but to me, they actually make the harsh ride seem not too bad.

Sorry, no, not everyone likes to drive in straight lines...

I'll give the old Cupholder it's due. It still took 20 years, 5 generations and a supercharger to finally get to this point.

Enough of the magazine rags, let's wait till 1.13.13, I'm dying to hear the opinions.

Torque has nothing to do with it. Torque with a rate does, and that is called power. At any rate, I believe that the power band for the ZR1 is broader than the gen V as well.

Those numbers for the Viper are not even up to GEN IV statistics. I am not buying it. I am also not knocking the Vette, but I think the New Viper has a lot more in it. If they are preproduction cars some bugs are still being worked out till the prod versions are rolled out.

slaloms in the mid 40s? My lifted wrangler with boggers can do that. Is that a typo? I would expect somewhere around the mid 70s.

The ZR1 quarter mile time and mph is dead on for a non prepped track on factory tires. I think the Viper mph is a tad low considering the 600 hp versions can do 128 on a non-prepped track.

The sting from last week has subsided. I knew what they were offering wasn't going to cut it. The Viper I want is the one that I can mod. Get those controllers unlocked and get the new headers out asap.
