there were muscle cars of yesteryear (very nice indeed). The regular line up of stangs and Camaros, tonnes of rice, and 1 Viper...
What struck me is this. There were thousands of people. And like many car shows, some people have their own "displays"; like mirrors under the car, pictures and fancy "ropes" around their car. I went to the show in hopes to get a glance at a Viper (there are only 4 in my city). As I was walking through the rows of cars I could see there was a larger crowd towards one area of the site. Assuming it was some "tricked" out Honda Civic with more twinkle lights on it than my Christmas tree;
I just kept walking and figured I would be forced to walk by it anyway.
As I finally approached the crowd, I could see what everyone was gawking at...yes, there she was; a 2000 rt/10 sapphire (sp) with the connolly interior. Very intimidating car. Now this is the kicker. The guy was a regular joe blow. He had no mirrors, stands, pictures or twinkling lights. He just had some "danger" yellow tape around the car (it looked like the setup crews lent it to him). That's it. He was far and away the most popular car there. People would just stare at it for like 5 minutes and not even speak. Like the car was pulling a Jedi mind trick or something
. Cameras flashing like mad. The guy was just joe cool
. Natural with nothing to proove. I must have been there for 30 minutes, and every comment was "this is the most wicked car ever" or "this is the nicest car I have ever seen".
Even at the book store, there was a crowd gathered around that "Viper Book by Daniel Carney". People waiting their turn to just LOOK at a book on the Viper!?!? ***!?!
I just thought I would post this because I am still taken back at the attention this car gets. Oh yeah, I casually noticed that the women find it very appealing...
This car is really a man among boys. Corvettes (to which I have one), Porsches, Stangs, NSX, you name it; NOTHING got the attention the Viper did.
I can't wait to get it.
