Dont EVER drive a Gen IV and prob a Gen V if you want to keep that view of the Gen II. The Gen II is all about the looks...gorgeous no doubt (yes, I have both) but not nearly as nice or fun to drive as the Gen IV motor, esp with 720 bhp like mine Has anyone seen any comparos btwn the Gen V and the Gen IV ACR on the track??

I have and still don't own one. As you know, cars can be modified.

Very nice video. Beautiful Gen II.

Unfortunately, this Video highlights the problem with Gen V: too much like Gen II and not enough forward-looking advances. For Gen II owners looking to move up it is great. Hopefully all Gen II owners and other Viper and non-Viper owners decide to purchase a Gen V so SRT will have a BIG budget for the next iterations and generations of the Viper. Time will tell.

That's exactly what I love about the Gen V. In fact, if they had deviated from the classic curves of the Viper by much, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Once in a great while a car is so beautiful that it is timeless. I think every gen Viper accomplished this, the Gen II being one of my favorites.

Now let's do this with a heavily modified Gen3

I got to say. That modified Gen 2 still looks, sounds and performs awesomely after so many years. If I had the money I'd personally take the new one but a heavily modded gen2 is a great alternative at a probably lower price. That was a nice GTS.

I had kicked around the idea of the Gen5 to go along with my 96. But even though it likes like the Gen2 and has substantially more power, its still the rawness and rudeness of a muscle car that I want in a toy. Who knows, maybe as I age, the comfort of the new one will start to be more appealling, does anyone how to talk a wife into a $100, 000 40th Birthday present.

I just showed a coworker the video who knows nothing about Vipers and his opinion was that the 96 still looks better, I'd like to see what it would have looked like if it was B&W.

I've driven numerous GenIV including the ACR. It is a great car no doubt. But it wasn't great enough to pull me from the originals. That loud, shaky, unforgiving GenI/II assiduously demanding an alert driver is what the Viper is...was all about. I will always be grateful to Lutz and Dodge for having produced it. It took balls and those guys had 'em.

I've shown the video to my colleagues who are either nerds [ driving Prius or Volt ] or euro car lovers.Each made a comment on how much softer the frontal of the Gen V looks next to the Gen II. Guess which model they preferred?

Got to admit the classic Gen 2, the Lutz, Iaccoca, Shelby, Brock heritage is a winner and a timeless design that can't be bested by the recent version.

The Gen IV motor really needs to be driven hard to be fully appreciated, which can only really be done safely on track. The interior on a Gen IV is what needs upgraded if you buy it for a street rod.

And the sound. That 97 sounded great... I like the analog gage layout of the Gen II.

The 2013 looks good and I like thw Viper lighting up when you rev it.

I have driven both Gen III and Gen IV's and still love my Gen II the best. When it comes to looks the Gen II will always be at the top of my list of just about all cars.
