Hello everyone,

I happily joined the viper family a couple months ago and have nothing but great things to say about the car. As of now im just catching up on some of the preventative things such as the oil lines, PS lines, and of course the bald tires. Any other things feel free to let me know.

Aside from that the car has a Seibon carbon fiber hood and I plan on painting it but wanted to check in and see if this is worth repairing(Haven't been able to take it to a shop yet). The gel coat is cracked on the top and theres a split along the underside. The hood doesn't seem to fit that great either with some large gaps at the cowl corners. Take a look and let me know what you think

It definitely has a lot of cracks/spiderweb cracks going on, between that and the fit if it was mine I would buy a used OEM hood. I think that hood will continue to give you grief even after it's repaired.

I’m pretty sure that’s a fiberglass hood with a carbon overlay...very easily made. With the mid alignment and the spidering underneath it doesn’t seem to be a true carbon.
I’ve made same assumption on my hood... it’s all good just fiberglass , mine is painted and clear coated on the outer edges. I’ll see if I can find some pics for your reference.. good luck....
