Does changing just your shift knob to a mgw one work good or do i need to change to the b&m ripper shifter? My stock one is way to high.when changing to the mgw knob does that whole metal piece come off with the knob and how high will it sit with just the knob change?
Anyone got kool pics of there shifter and knob?

I went with the MGW first strike knob as well. It's like night and day compared to the stock one. Only concern I have is how hot the metal Viper logo gets if the car sits out in the sun for too long- OUCH!
I still can't believe Dodge put that big tractor knob on our car!

I stopped being a B+M advocate long ago. Esp for 92-97 or any trans under warranty.

If you MUST have a (warranty UN-FRIENDLY) short throw, get the SVS.

I recommend saving the $$ and going MGW.

Believe the MGWLtd "Snake Gripper" knob is actually a little shorter than their "First Strike" model.

Have no heat complaints here and the height difference between the Gripper and the factory knob is substantial. You should be very happy with a change to a Gripper.

I have the Snake Gripper as well, with the Satin finish...I have heard that the Snake Gipper with the chrome finish gets a little hot (chrome...holds...heat), but I have never experienced this with mine done in the satin finish...

I would like to know if anyone has tried Pro-5.0's Power Tower Shifter, or shall I be the guinea pig?

I bought the MGW First Strike and I'm really happy with the way it shortened the throw, made it easier to adjust the A/C controls (knob not in the way), and how it looks. MGW quality is second to none. I was going to get the B&M (have one in the Boxster and happy with it) but Bill P. told me all I needed was the MGW knob and he was right.

I also have the MGW Snake Gripper in satin finish and it is perfect.
