Smooth tubes, K&N or Roe filters, go to any muffler shop and have them replace the rear muffler with pipes - makes it much better sounding without being much louder.

Approx. 20 to 30 hp gain
Cost about $300.

I know the gear upgrade has been ran into the ground in this forum, but I also think that will be my next upgrade.

From what I understand, 355 is the most common, but since I have a Gen1 , I could get away with a 373 if I wanted?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that this is about a $1200-$1500 upgrade from start to finish.

Question - does this increase the HP/torque on the Dyno or just really make a difference in the SOTP feel ?

Venmous,

Gears may lower your Dyno numbers a little bit due to the extra frictional losses, but they will give improved SOTP.

Keep in mind that short gears are only useable at speed. From a stop, your stock gearing can already deliver enough torque to spin the tires. Delivering more torque will just get more smoke, forcing you to really pedal the car on launch.

More gear also means more shifts, which may reduce your ET over a given distance.

This is why drag racers generally think gears are counterproductive.

I wanna say I read just the opposite. That they actually may display less gains on a dyno. But they the sotp feel is very noticeable. I hope I am correct with my first statement. If I'm not someone will surely correct me.
