Yep, just buy direct. You get BRAND new, latest software if he has made any updates. Problem with Ebay is yopu never know what you will get.

I tuned out the X and K bands. Not used around here much. left laser and Ka on. Its great , picks up the CHP all the time. Yesterday one tried rolling up on ILLSMOQ and I. Bot our detectors picked it up so we sat in middle lane cruising. Probably picked him up a 1/2 mile back or so. I could live without the Valentine and its arrows.Saved me many times.

Since we are on topic...a couple questions for the owners of the V1. I recently purchased a V1 based on several recommendations to replace my stolen ****** 8500 X50. So far, I have mixed feelings about the V1.

1. With my ****** 8500, I turned off X-band since no police use it in my area. Can this be done with the V1?
2. When the V1 receives multiple alerts, I get so many chirps and arrows that I can't figure what's real and what's false. It is getting very annoying. Is this common with you? I feel like I will be less sensitive to alerts.
3. I've tried all 3 "logic" modes and don't se a reduction in false bogeys. What mode are you using?

I've got 30 days to evaluate the V1, and am not entirely convinced that it outperforms the ****** 8500 X50 like a lot of people claim. That said, I want to remain impartial until I give it a full test.

Thanks for your help.

Hello...I have a V1 also its the 3.813 firmware and I dont plan upgrading to the newest firmware .

You can turn off X band make sure they dont use that in your area. The multible beeps are your bogey locks, locking on the strongest threat (Band and Direction) so you can adjust your driving to counter the on going threats. You can also make your V1 very very quite by changing your Auto mute for the K band and by keeping your KA Guard on and I would advise turning the POP Mode off because the V1 will detect every crappy cobra and other useless RD's still used on the roads from the 70's and up.

1.--I'd say yes, sounds like MikeR has done so as stated above I think.
2-- Within a few weeks you'll get to where you know which is which on the false and real chirps
3.--I run the the L showing.

You'll get to where you can't live w/out the arrows. On a trip from Vegas to oklahoma city last year in an NSX I had the ****** and V1 both hooked up to do a comparison. They both did a great job, but having the arrows really sets the V1 apart from everything else!!
