Paolo and I both want to come down.
ROOF,Double elim.:eek:nce all cars are seeded by time runs,#1car and #2car are on different brackets and will eventually run each other, the losers including 3rd and 4th seeds will also have a chance to win in the final if they didn't get a good run in.Hence everyone gets TWO chances to win each competition.I'll be glad to send you a chart!

Paolo and TOOOFST,
You both got a crew member if you need it. Just let me know when you want to leave and I'll get the day off.

House close could you come to having a Tuner finals along with and in the race. Levin, Heff, Tom, RSI and TNT for the Nitros explosion show. No jet fly overs like at the Nascar races only Nick from TNT in his rented Viper making a 60' run and them blam, rock the house. :D

Not that this is the 1st thing on your mind, but got any suggestions for hotels in the area that will hook us up w/ a group rate for either fri night only or thurs night and fri night?

That Best Western worked out pretty well the last time...

And perhaps we can get a "guard" too...

I am having the same hotel we stayed at for VOI reserved. Will Post rates Monday.

ROHN
Tuner shoot-out? TNT and Tom Welch Have Not committed yet. I have spoken with Both and TNT will probably come as well as sponsor but not sure about TOM Welch yet? We Can Have an Exhibition outside of the regular competetion with the fastest of every TUner's car represented with a Shoot-out. They will also have the opportunity during the actual event in their different classes as well.

I am still waiting to see If Sean Roe is coming on board, I know that there are several of his Supercharged customers coming.

Re: Class Break Down for V-10 Power Nationals(Registration Form) Drag Racin

Hello Roof,

Congrats on your taking the bull by the horns with this event. I'm gonna throw my $ 0.02 in for your consideration.

In my opinion(not just because of my car) it is unfair to have multi power adder cars running against single power adder cars just because of the possibility of a better track/driver or a previous 9 second pass..ie; there are several 800+ hp cars out there (including yours) who have not ran a 9 yet, but certainly have enough hp to do it based upon our testing and the amount of power required to run a 9 second time. To put a single nitrous car against strokers with dual direct port systems and supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous combos together just ain't right.

Take a look at that again as I am considering coming to and associate sponsoring this event.

Again, thanks in advance for your hard work.

Tom

Tom You said It best yourself by the following post. Blower car's are not proven 9 second car's.

PLEASE NOTE: NO FLAMES INTENDED.........

While Horsepower SELLS, it's torque that is winning races and making 9 second passes in Vipers, why do you think the basic Viper engine makes more torque than Horsepower?

It takes about 900 Ft/Lbs of REAR WHEEL torque at 4400 RPMS and lower to make a 9 second pass a reality in a Viper, or at least that's what we have seen so far. A s/c only car may run a 9 one day, but it's gonna take more than 800 Ft/Lbs of torque.

Just my $ 0.02

Tom

P.S. the shame is that the average 9 second drag race car makes less than 800 ft/lbs of torque but has much greater chassis efficiency along with better gearing and tranny choices. We are fighting that battle with our Vipers as well.

Your nitrous car is. Why would anyone want to compete with a class they know they will win going into. I would rather be compettive.

No flame Intended! BTW are you coming to the Event? ALl the Major tuners have signed on. We are hoping you will join in.

Re: Class Break Down for V-10 Power Nationals(Registration Form) Drag Racin

Roof,

Hello again. I'm sorry but I'm confused about your comments.

Let me clarify mine. A single power adder is a single power adder regardless of what a car has previously ran. Certain folks making comments about doing this and that "without NOS" are only kidding themselves. Don't penalize those of us running stock CI, single power adder, factory gear and suspension cars, just because the single blower cars(no different than a nitrous system) have yet to run a 9 second pass and we have. In my opinion, thats stacking the deck in their favor. I'm not apologizing for my cars performance, but I'm not interested in running in a class of cars that are not equals, especially when your "power adder 1" class fits my car and several of my customers cars to a tee.

Thanks again for all of your efforts with regards to this event. We'd really like to come as the facility is very nice and the commradere of Viper owners is a strong bond. We are waiting on improvement to the class breakdown before making a commitment.

Re: Class Break Down for V-10 Power Nationals(Registration Form) Drag Racin

Joe,

It don't get any more real than me, pal. I was and still am being actively solicited to sponsor this event, but I have a difference of opinion with regards to a few of the classes, and thats what is keeping me from making a commitment. I have several customers who I am speaking for who have not yet committed to attend this event either(all of whom have our 9 second "single power adder" package)

Just so everyone is up on our feelings about this event, I am copying an email response that I sent to Dr. Roof from earlier this afternoon.

"Hello Dave,

By now you have probably read my response on the VCA forums. First, Id like to thank you again for your efforts..as you can't make everyone happy.

At this time, we are going to have to take a pass on this event as in my opinion our $ 17K package cars are being placed in a class with cars that have more extensive modifications with costs as high as four times greater than mine and/or my customers.

Everybody wants to win, we are no exception. It's simple.. just make it fair. Put ALL single power adder cars together and we will come.

Again, thanks for your work and persistence.

Respectfully,

Tom Welch"

I can only hope that this simple request will be honored in the best interest of good sportsmanship and fairness to all of those with intentions to compete at this event. I personaly would love to have a crack at some of these NO NOS s/c and TT Vipers....but..........

Re: Class Break Down for V-10 Power Nationals(Registration Form) Drag Racin

Clarification needed on the break down of the classes listed please. I don't quite understand why a 9 second car with only 1 power adder falls into the power adder 2 classification. Maybe I'm missing something? This will dump guys like Chlouber, Welch, etc., into the same class with guys running 2 power adders(nitrous/supercharged-turbo/nitrous)
Thanks!

Not to pile on - your doing a great job and I plan to attend - but I tend to agree with Tom and Larry.

Just keep things simple and have single power adder and then unlimited.

I have seen races where an intercooler is considered an extra power adder. So now we should have 1,2,3 power adder classes......NOT. I say throw all the power adder cars in one bucket and see who is left.

Here is another problem - I believe the dates of this event fall one week after Viper Days at Mid Ohio. Due to the close proximity (time and area) of both events, I believe you are going to loose some people that can't play on two consecutive weeks. A summer date might work better - sorry I know it is a bit late for this comment, however, I did not see the conflict till recently.

Roof Doc,Tom BTRs always giving his .02 worth, thought i'd be generous and donate $1.
The only division/class needed is UNLIMITED.Thats what most viper owners want to see,the badest, fastest run each other.
Everyone else can run a double elimination bracket race, with awards for fastest times(run during the competition) in different classes;stock, mod, reaction time, ect. This would give the everyone at least 3 chances to win something.
With the current set up,most of us can easily see we'd fall somewhere in the middle getting one run and go home.
Respectfully Submitted
