Any feedback on clutches ? I was really hooking at the V10 Nationals and fried the clutch. Those that run the RPS carbon/carbon clutch, what is the drivability like ? Pedal pressure ? I had rather not have a clutch that is not daily driver friendly. Who is a RPS clutch dealer ? tnx

Tony,

I spoke with Spec (STAR) a few weeks ago and they seem to think their Viper clutch is the $hit. While on the phone I spoke with them about a mechanical failure on one of their clutches and they wouldn't warranty the item. They also told me that if my client were to switch to a Cartek he was a *****. The clutch with the issues is actually for an FBody. Needless to say, with remarks like that I went to Cartek.

Tony - I run a carbon-carbon clutch in my DLM beastie. It's a great clutch for the street; pedal pressure is same as stock, no grabbyness at all, etc. It slips a bit when cold and hit with high HP, which takes some getting used to, but on the whole I'm very happy with it.

I've thrown away two Kevlar discs last season, they started to slip after 20 runs on the dragstrip. I have now replaced the kevlar with sinter, and to that did we also resurface the pressure plate with a different alignment angle. I'm quite sure that will do it.
My conclusion is that the singel Kevlar disks does not work well on the dragstrip...

Hey Ben, Could you elaborate on that. What is needed to get past the slipping.....normal driving for 5 miles or a little abuse. Would you want that clutch in a daily driver ? tnx guys
