They do exist!

Was turning onto a two lane road from a one lane road where I was following an interminably slow gomermobile and, when I had the extra lane I lit it up and got around him quick.

Didn't notice the State Police Officer 4-5 cars back in traffic on the far side. I got on the expressway and began to see the lights. Sunday morning, not too many people out, red Viper, its gotta be me.

He walks up to the drivers window, compliments the car and asked if I knew why he stopped me? I really didn't know why as I hadn't been going over the limit, hadn't seen any indication from the front/rear K40, and hadn't even seen him.

He said "when you jumped on it back there, all the little old ladies on their way to church soiled themselves and then looked over at me as if to say, what're YOU going to do about it?"

He continued "I had no choice but to chase you. I didn't get a speed reading on you so I have no idea how fast you were going. Please don't do that again, and have a nice morning."

His mission was accomplished without bullying or condescention. This was a good guy...there are some!

Good story. I got pulled over for the same thing once. I went sliding around a corner and there was a cop at the intersection (oops). He was off duty but he said everyone was staring at him and pointing at me, so he had to pull me over. People at the intersection even honked as they went past me pulled over. He came up to the car and said that he sort of had to pull me over, nice slide, don't do it again at least in front of a cop and have a good day. Cool guy.

I'm glad it worked out that way for you. I never seem to run into the cool ones, although I did have one want to run me once, unfortunately I had my 8 1/2 month pregnant wife with me and couldn't do it. Talk about a license to speed.

Got pulled over by a fire truck (that wasn't on the way to a fire) for rounding a corner when the signal had gone from yellow to red. I was watching the intersection and not the light - oops.

In our town, the Firemen and the Police are the same guys!

I first thought I ran it yellow, and the cops in the truck were just giving me a hard time - 'till my wife chimed in, and said they weren't kidding.

No ticket, however, I've learned that slowing up for a corner on a yellow might actually be red by the time I get there.

No thanks to Skip Barber, who said I should be looking through the apex of a corner - he never said anything about checking for a light change!

Here's one I've posted before. I think this cop is pretty cool.

One Thanksgiving holiday when I first got my Viper, I was on my way to my mother's house. I get on this straight away with light traffic behind me. I think it's safe and romp on it a bit. As I hit the 80MPH mark, I see in my rear view mirror a black and white pull out of the crowd and speed up. Right there I know I'm a dead duck. Sure enough, his lights go on and I here over his loud speaker "PULL OVER". I oblige and pull over. I get out and chat with him a bit and then he asks if he can check out my car. I say "sure" and open her up. He looks over the engine. He then asks if he can sit in it and again I say "sure". After he's done checking out the car and telling me how cool it is he asks me "Are you heading to mom's place?" I say "Yeah, you gonna be there after your shift?" He says "yup". I say "Okay, Cya there later, Buttwipe". He replies "Cya, dumb$**t , and slow down." I get back in, peel out, and head on my way.
