Pulled the snake out of the garage for the first time this winter, and took it for a spin. Went down to the gas station, filled up and did the usual oil check.

While I was checking the oil, I noticed what looks like corrosion on the throttle bodies and alternator. Anyone ever have this happen? What's the best way to clean it up?

Also, got a check engine light (car is stock other than smooth tubes). Going out to check the code now that I found my book. Hopefully nothing serious...

EDIT: Just realized how worthless my Service Manual is. It says in section 8E-15 to turn the ignition on-off 3 times, and read the code in the odometer. Ummmm.... Hello? Dodge? My odometer is analog.

Personally I'd lightly spray the throttle bodies down with a little WD 40. As far as the alternator, I'd spray a small rag with WD 40 and wipe it down, getting in all the nooks etc.

If your parking your car over the winter up North on concrete. Ensure you lay down a moisture barrier under the car. The moisture that comes out of the concrete will rust out anything susceptible to rust.
