OK, I have read all the installation instructions, Bought a jack and 6 ton jack stands. I have all the tools and I am going to try to do the install myself. Last chance to tell me any little install "secrets", shortcuts or "don't dos"!!! Some shared thoughts in a previous thread. Let me hear from those with hands on experience!

Here's one... when you are re-installing the rubber exhaust hangars... don't overtighten those shoulder-bolts...... I broke one by over tightening.

Let me know if you are installing high flow cats at the same time as I have an Illustrated Upgrade on this.

No cats at this time just the catback. I am going to go slow and try not and damage anything or screw it up. Can I put the jack stands under the rear rails or do I have to put them on the jack points?

From a past post, and out of my "Viper files":

The middle of the front cross member (the meeting point in the "K" of the frame) will allow you to pick up the front of the car.

Placing a floor jack under the "S" part of the rear side frame rail (closest to the center of the car as you can get) will pick up the back of the car - although one side will come up first, the chassis is stiff enough to pick up the back end.
We pick up the back end first to give enough clearance to get to the front. This is the only way we ever jack the car to get it up on jackstands.

Jack the back end of car at the start / curvy part of the frame's "S" curve FORWARD of the rear axle. This will pick up your jacking side of the rear first, but keep going and it will pick up entire back end.
Place jack stands under FRAME RAILS behind S curve - not too far out. We only lift the car about 16 inches or so - just enough to be comfortable to work under there. We have never had an issue about the car moving in this tilted position, but again, we don't lift it to a 45-degree angle.

Jack up front of car - either by placing jack between front and rear wheels and going in that way, or, with a low enough profile jack, going in from the front. Place jack saddle at the intersection of the "K" crossmember. This will pick up the front of the car very evenly.

Place level jackstands under FRAME RAILS slightly behind where the tie down holes are but not directly underneath the "A" arm reinforcement. Again - big thing here is to make sure you are under the thick / wide section of the frame and not the front 1/2 height section of frame horn.

One more; when putting in the rear muffler section and putting the exhaust tips through the rear facia outlet hole, remove as many of the screw-bolts holding the rear facia up as needed to open the hole up. This will make life a lot easier, as it is a tight fit.
Later,

Ok, tonight I pulled off the side covers and as usual about half the screws just fell out. I was very careful. So far so good. used liq wrench and will let that sit overnight. Tomorrow I get it up on jack stands. Guess I will put bigger srews in when I replace the covers. How hard are they to get back on? Any tricks?

OK, old system is off! The new resonators don't slide up all the way on the cats only go up the shaft by about 1.5" on one side and 1.75" on the other. I wonder if that is OK. I emailed Jon and Corsa to ask them!

It's done!!! All I have to do is put the side covers back on. It wasn't that hard but doing it by myself did take longer and make it harder. I got some real exercise with this! The install was pretty easy and every thing fit good. I cranked it up and wow! Only thing is the bottom of the exhaust pipes actually sits on that little bar that keeps the exhaust port straight. Hope that is OK. Didn't hear any rattles and got no codes. I will button it up tomorrow and take a spin!!! Thanks for all your help!!! Any hints on the side cover reinstall??????? :usa:

You could do the sill fastener upgrade that's in the illustrated upgrade section, but you need that special rivit tool.

The only thing I have noticed with my Corsa's that I don't like is the loud clicking sound I get as the exhaust is cooling after a drive. Otherwise the sound is great!
