Ok, so having received shipment of my '94 Red RT/10 on Sept 21st, I will say that it does not look good for my little redhead. For some reason everyone felt the need to look at a truck stopped on the side of the highway, to the point of stopping to see what the truck was doing ... unfortunately I couldn't stop in time

So I guess that I'm adding to the stat of most accidents in the first 30 days of ownership.

Relatively low speed collision, nobody hurt, car still runs, other car undamaged thanks to a deer carrier on the back

So, having seen the estimate for a new hood is over $14,000 does anyone know where I can get one so they don't total this vehicle

Hey I got rear ended too within a month sitting at a red light, so I guess I would add to the stats too...You can also try R and J distributing for the hood.

There was a hood on E-Bay a few days ago. I think the guy wanted 4995. Haven't checked to see if it's gone. Good luck and sorry for your misfortune.

Glad you're ok, and don't feel bad. It was nothing you did... just an accident. The main "statistic" involves stupidity or a lack of understanding of vehicle dynamics in a high torque car like the Viper.

Hey I got rear ended too

From the sounds of it the Viper rear ended the guy who stopped to look at a truck on the side of the road.

Could have happened to anybody. All you can do is keep extra distance, keep looking ahead and brake early so the idiots behind you don't add to the problem.

Actually, I believe the guy in front stopped to admire the car rapidly approaching behind him...typically in such circumstance if I were seeing someone behind me approaching quickly I would free up some space instead of a hard stop ... he admitted to admiring my car while slamming the brakes

For JonB, the tires were Kumho's late 08 vintage, I believe 3908 in the front and 4308 in the back, matched set ...

At least from my searches, it doesn't appear that Dave Big Brake kits fit the Gen 1 Viper. It appears that Tom's 40mm upgrade may be the right choice. May have to make a trip to Tator's
