Dash lights dimming on and off on my 2004???

Funny thing tonight, driving home at dusk and decided to put on my parking lights on while I drove. (This lights up all dash and panel lights). All my gauges went from normal white brightness to very dim and back and forth several times while I drove home??? Everything else seemed to work fine stereo, daytime running lights, windows etc??

My car is an 2004 with 1500 miles on it?? Has anyone had this same thing happen to them?? If so what could be the problem be??

Had same thing happen on my 04. Root cause...Passenger door was not completely closed. Did not trigger an idiot light on dash but lights kept dimming and reading lights on rear view mirror would not turn off. Felt pretty stupid when I finally figured it out.

No Grayman all doors were closed. All dash lights including the stero panel lights (where it tells you what staion your listening to) would go very dim and then go bright again??

Very weird??

Any other opinions???

there was a recall on '03's w/ the same problem, a reflash of the body control module should fix the prob.

Doesn't sound like the same issue as the 03 flicker. That was the entire lighting system off and on. This sounds like a dirty contact in the switch. Happens on my '78 cube van all the time. Quick fix is to turn the dimmer several times to clean the contacts. Hopefully that's all it is.

This happened to me too. Dash and radio lights would dim, then go back, then dim and go back. Did it for several days, then went back to normal. Hasn't done it since.

I have a 2004.
