Dealership refusing to service car under factory warranty...

Hi All,

I went in to the local Dodge dealership today to have my oil changed and brake fluid flushed. They called me later on this afternoon and told me that they cannot service the car because it is too low and they cannot get it on the lift, and they don't want to risk damaging the front fascia. The car has been lowered all the way down using the factory coilovers, by the way. Has anyone else run into this problem? Any suggestions as to what I can do? Also, I'm still under my factory warranty as well (in service date was March 2003). I'm assuming I may need to raise the car?

Heh, how yall doin? We-uns up here in Kneebrasky ain't too bright, but seeing that we had one of our lifts all occupado, we-uns figurd, we could drive one them Vipers upun on some bords,ta git it high nuff. See ifen that Dealer haz some bords ( they ain't under MoPar partz ) and drive upun dem -could werk , but they might have to do some mighty strong thinkin ta figur it out?

LOL - yep, you got it, we are practically in Alabama here. They just aren't too smart in these parts... I already asked about the boards - they refused to try it.

um... if they can't figure out how to ge the car on the lift, I'd not let them touch it.

How far away are you from Macedo? Brake fluid and an oil change aren't warranty items, right?

Thankfully I'm moving back down to the Orlando area soon, so Larry will be close by if needed.

It's not that they can't figure out the lift, it's just that the car is so low (about an inch or so from the ground in the front).

Sorry, but I would suggest you find your friendly Jiffy Lube (with a pit ) that you can drive over, and just make sure the bottom of the front fascia doesn't scrape. Often they will let you bring your own oil and filter and just charge you a service fee , as it looks good for them to work on a Snake. I always prefer folks take it to trained Viper Techs, but it appears you are have trouble finding someone who can spell tech, let alone be one. Good luck and sorry about your frustration.

Run from the dealer and consider yourself lucky they didn't try and screw things up. Looks like your doing the smarter things anyways and doing this yourself. Try the Motive pressure bleeder - slick tool for about $50 for your brakes.
