Die Hard Battery

After three and half years of trusty work, my Mopar battery just gave up the ghost. The temperature had just hit freezing which was too much for the battery. It wouldn't even charge.

Called my local Dodge dealer, but they have to order a battery.

I haven't seen much posted on this site about batteries.

Any pluses or minuses about the different batteries?

It seemed to start up and run without a hitch.

Hope this one last awhile, they're kind of a bear to get in and out.

My experience with Sears batteries has been nothing but good. They seem to put out a quality product. Having said that, I have had a few generic POS batteries that lasted forever too. I would think that the new sealed or gel batteries like optima http://www.optimabatteries.com/ would have some advantages over the old school stuff. I like the idea of keeping the corrosive gases at bay and vibration resistance. I just saw a blurb about this http://www.custom-autosound.com/battery_lifesavertm.htm in a Vette magazine. Sorry I read that stuff too. Any input on sealed batteries or that "battery lifesaver"?

I use 75 series Die-Hard Gold...NOT 78 series that was listed in the Sears battery book a couple of years back. The Die-Hards have served us well for non-track applications...saw a recent battery comparison where Die-Hard rated ABOVE more expensive alternatives...again, were talking NON-TRACK USAGE...you know, "posing".

I bought Apex's solid battery many months ago and I've been really pleased with it. it's shock resistant, small, and cranks well, even when cold.

Bingo! Die-Hard Gold 75. Best fit-value.

And YES, 1993.5-2002 requires LR wheel removal.
1992-93.5 and 2003 has it in the trunk

It was listed as a 78 Series.

It seemed to fit without a problem.
