Hey gang, my first post in the performance section, who knows, might even get some replies!!
I took my car to the dynoshop last week and pulled a 430.x standard which was then corrected down to 420.x SAE. (stock 97 GTS). Wanted to get some baseline numbers before I start to play, new exhaust in garage!
My question is, the car did pull the 430, in at least 90 degree hear with humidity to match, yet the SAE brings this number down? I don't follow the SAE procedure, I would think the power sapping heat (sidenote-with very small fan aimed at the front of the car) would bring the SAE numbers up to match a "norm" benchmark for comparing apples to apples?
Anyone shed some light on this, I guess the number is only bragging rights, I will be more interested in the increase after exhaust mods, but regardless still not sure on the theory yet, should I only re-dyno at this exact location or does SAE eliminate any variance from shop to shop?
Thanks for any input,
