It's now close enough to the VOI drags that I'm going to leak a few pictures of the completed car. Suffice to say the pix don't do Doug's work justice, and you should swing by his booth at VOI to see the beast in person. It's a work of mechanical art!

I'll post power figures tomorrow along with the race results. For those of you who were expecting a turbo car, my apologies for the red herring

Given the power Doug's making on blower, you will understand why I felt no need to put up with the heat & throttle response issues attendant with a turbo setup.

Wow, it looks amazing to say the least!!! I can see it is plumed for some serious fuel.

Congratulations, as I know it was a long wait for this project to be completed.

I can't wait to see the numbers she put down at the track. You are going to have some tough competition from the Texas gang.

Best of luck (not that you need it)!!

That, IS truly impressive. My only question is, How in the world will you smog that beast? (Or has it become a track only car?)

Greg -- believe it or not, the car will pass CA emissions with its twin 4" cats. The visual is another matter

Tomer -- my factory warranty didn't survive 2 months! This isn't making it any worse than it already was...

Anthony -- you and me both!! It'll be running tomorrow morning, and I'll post results as they become available. I'll also have video if I can find myself a fast 'net connection in TN...

The motor looks great Ben. Thanks for showing us the pictures.
I'm looking forward to seeing the dyno figures, and how well it does at the track!

Beautiful job!

With lots of hoses! Are any of them intended to provide water injection, to mitigate detonation? Or has detonation been taken care of some other way? Or maybe its not a problem at all?

How much boost are we talking about? Must have forged pistons?

Ok, enough with the questions already!

Err, Vic -- the hoses are to supply 104 octane unleaded from a race gas fuel cell in the trunk, and to supply NOS. It's running 11-15 lbs of boost depending on setup, and then spraying NOS on top of that. This is a completely built engine, including custom forged pistons, and with an effective octane of 100 detonation isn't a problem.

Maybe the dyno sheet will help illuminate

The torque dropoff at 4900 RPM is where the rear tires (ET streets for traction) started spinning on the dyno drum at about 130 MPH. After the run there were shreds of tire littering the rear of the dyno area

. I still don't know how much power this monster really makes, only that it's over 1000 RWHP...

I'm curious?...

If your set-up is called "DLM Stage IV Pro" and my Viper (the one behind yours) is receiving even more injectors and other stuff, then what does that make mine ("DLM Stage V Omega+" ?). I can't wait! Doug knows my Viper is for show as well as drags, and apparently he's been doing something special for me. I will post reams of statistics when mine is ready (no Red Herrings). I will, of course, only post what Doug allows. That's how it works, and I can't blame him! Go Doug!!!!!!!!!

P.S.: I'm not doing NOS, however...

Wow - now that is an impressive dyno sheet!!! Great numbers. Even the Supra boys will be impressed.

You should be able to give Albert a run for his money today - I can't wait to see todays results. Lets hope the rain holds out until tomorrow.

Congrats on the AWESOME project. Driving your Viper is like driving one with 3 stock 488ci. engines in it!!!

That is unreal!

Best, Dave

Ben-
Wonderful stuff! Great numbers! After speaking with you over the last year about its progress, I know you are one VERY HAPPY MAN NOW!!!!...looks like the numbers surpassed your expectations. You certainly upped the ante for Viper performance.

Are the dyno numbers you posted with the car using nitrous? If so, do you have any runs without nitrous?

Looks great!! Good luck at VOI! Be safe (that's enough power to take off...do you need a pilot's license to drive it?)
