It would be a nice feature, but where does it stop and with what type of car? I like to think in extremes. Imagine a car that drives itself 20 years from now. How much skill would it take? NONE. Imagine at the other end of the spectrum, a 1960's racing AC Cobra. No paddle shifter, no power steering, skinny tires, massive HP, you and the machine..... Your skill would develope much more than a head up display powerseat nav system power running board cupholder mobile. Wouldn't it?

I was referring to roads that are new to the driver. Would you push your car 90-95% on an unfamilair track. Of course not. You could with AH as it would catch you when you "fall." And it also can make up for unforseen conditions that a "human" could not handle, like oil or sand in a hot corner, etc.

A good AH system is nothing more than insurance as it does not interfere at all when the car is running fast and in no way slows a properly (read: fast) driven car. It only steps in when the car is beyond its limits, which is slower anyway and more dangerous. Pro drivers turn in identical lap times with the AH on and off in a Z06 (on Comp Mode), road course and dragstrip.

This is meant only to tell the advantages of AH and not to elevate the Z06, as I have a Z and I'm here learning about the Viper so that I can make the switch. But I would like to see a good AH system on the Viper. I also agree that regular traction control is a PITA and I turn my Comp Mode on every time I drive my Z as the default is regular traction control, which is way too invasive.

Unlike the vast bulk of you garage queens out there, I would like to have traction control the same way it was in my 99 Mustang GT - a toggle switch within reach from the shifter - simple to leave on or off. The reason I would use it is for inclement weather driving, which you garage queens don't experience in the Viper like me :)

But I would like to see a good AH system on the Viper.

Sadly, you will probably someday get your wish, especially if the Viper ever goes mass-prod like the Vette. But for us purists, WE DON’T WANT IT and don’t try to convert us.

Any more discussion on the subject and I vote we ban Chad.

IF it ever does I'll rip it out, smash it all to hell and mail it to DC
