I have a challenge for the Dodge Dealers that cruise this board. I've been looking at GTS Vipers now for several months. I've even talked to a few of you in my search. I've looked at a few used (2000 up) ones both private party and at dealers. There are significant variables to consider as I looked at the used market so I've decided that buying new offers a better opportunity to my needs. Factory warranty, less fear of abuse, better understand of the market, etc.

So my challenge to you is to provide me a private email with your best price for a new 2001/2002 GTS Viper that can be pick up in the lower 48 states. I will not disclose the price unless you request it to be done. I will publicly state who provided the best opportunity if you would like the plug. No financing is needed unless it helps you improve your offer and I am a private party.

To give you an idea of where I am at in pricing, I have seen one FE sold in the $68K range new, and I just missed a used 2000 ACR (2 months old with 492 miles) for $58K. My next choice if we cannot work together to get this deal consummated is to order a ZO6, the next best thing.

Catwood,
I've sold every Viper I had, so I can't help you.

STOP SHOPPING !!

Call Bill Pemberton @ Woodhouse! If you can't strike a deal with him:
Then go buy a "Winter Car" [z06].

Catwood,

I have bought Three Vipers from the Viper Wizard, I almost bought
a Viper from Bill Pemberton. You can't go wrong with either of these guys. (not my opinion, just a fact)
If you choose to buy a Z06, you will still want a Viper. ( I should know)

Where in SD are you located?

Let us all know what you get! If you need to have it shipped,
I would highly recamend Pilot Frieght or Intercity Trucking!!!

Good luck,

2Charmed

It's clear from your email that your motivation is to get the best price possible. But, you're not giving the dealers any incentive to work with you here to get a good price. They are going to email you with a price hoping that just maybe they will get your business with a low-offer?

You're going about this the wrong way... no offense but it seems like maybe you haven't bought many cars.

The BEST piece of advice is to call Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse.com. If his price is $500 more than the next guy, its a small price to pay to KNOW that your car will show up with no scratches, no dings, no "extra" miles, etc.

Also, all that matters is what you can get a car for NOW. Don't spend too long chasing the mystical deal that happened to someone's friends dog's sister's uncles friend when he got a 2002 GTS for $40k... it won't happen. Look over the market, figure out a fair price to pay, call Pemberton and get your Viper!

Honestly, the Viper and Z06 are two totally different cars. It kinda sounds like you want the Z06 but if you can get a Viper for a few grand more you'll take it... the Viper is a different animal. You need to WANT a Viper. If you do want the Viper, the Z06 will never do... there will always be something faster, somethin more exclusive, and more exotic.

Dunno if that helps... but CALL PEMBERTON, trust the guys on this board.

Yes my motivation is to get a great price, and no offense taken. I've never bought a car as expensive as the Viper. But just because it's expensive, doesn't mean it's not a just a car...it is. No offense but when you see new 2000s just now being sold.....they are soft on the market. I will try and take advantage of that. I don't think I can be faulted for trying. But then again, perhaps some will say I should.

I'm patient and some responses have already been submitted. It's sort of like a closed bid process.....sumbit your offers.

Recently bought my 02 Final Ed. from Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse. Very nice, no pressure, car delivered within a few days and in perfect condition. A very class act and at a very reasonable price. My first Viper
newbie[1].gif
and I'm very satisfied.

I'm just saying that...

a) I think many of the good dealers aren't going to take the time to play the game the way you're requesting. If I was a dealer, I wouldn't bother. They like to deal face to face or at least on the phone. I presumed you were trying to avoid the whole "face to face" thing with the email deal, but if I was wrong I apologize.

b) Your best chance to get a VERY good price is to find that small-time dealer who has a 2001 left over from 2 years ago and they are *desperate* to move it, even at a loss. I wouldn't think most of the big dealers are going to be in that situation, and it's the big dealers that read the site. Best price = small town dealer who doesnt know about this site and are sick of paying finance charges on the Viper they have sitting.

Now, if you want the best service, Pemberton is the man. I just can't imagine too many dealers being interested in entering into a private bidding war with one another... would they really give their REAL lowest price? Doubtful.

But, whatever happens, I wish you luck. Please post the results when you get it all worked out.
